  1. "Might they view Castro as more of an outfielder, given his poor infield defense, " Moving a poor fielding infielder to the outfield seems more like hope than a winning strategy.
  2. You might be brave enough to say it but if Rodriguez is on the roster and you want Bader over him at any point, should Rodriguez really be there?
  3. With such a wealth of riches maybe he was brought on board for his World Series parade planning skills.....
  4. Not so much above average bat at 1B and a below average fielder to boot (pun intended) feels like a let down from Santana. Holding out for Alonzo. Make it happen.
  5. Two keys. Larnach must be competent, above average corner outfielders for a full season and prove they can hit LHP and in Larnach's case especially pitches that aren't straight.
  6. Trading Santana was not more prudent than trading Berrios. Both of them ultimately ended up signing contracts that we could / should easily have matched. Sure SWR had a nice season, three years later. And yet it wasn't enough to keep the fan base from wanting a trade for a pitcher to push him down the rotation.
  7. Seems like maybe it would have been beneficial to mention Brooks Lee in this article. Otherwise you just talked about stuff we basically already knew.
  8. I hope you realize that new ownership is NOT a guarantee of different results. Maybe not even different means of trying.
  9. You can say 2022 doesn't count but are you doing so for the sake of one side of an argument? You certainly can't overlook the results, which were significant.
  10. Everything in the article and in the comments is just fine and dandy. But until they model their system after what the NFL does they will never be as successful as the NFL. That's why the Vikings are worth $5 Billion and the Twins will be lucky to sell for a third of that.
  11. You can argue all day against counting stats but at the end of the day if a guy is performing he's gonna get the counting stats. Give me the guys with the hits, runs and RBI and you can take whoever you want from the rest and mine are gonna beat yours more often than not.
  12. Not buying the "moving guys from shortstop is a flaw in their development process" nonsense. If guys were capable of being big league shortstops they'd stay there. At least until they got to the big leagues and proved they weren't capable of staying.
  13. Not to mention another LH hitting OF with a .514 OPS against LHP. On the other hand, and, yes, I know that an 11 PA sample size is too small to draw solid conclusions from but he DID have a .258 OPS in Target Field.
  14. 358 PA for a catcher who if the scouting reports are right can't hit or play defense. Sure hope the Dodgers were wrong about Diego Cartaya.
  15. You don't get clicks by writing that Cy Young could pitch or Barry Bonds could hit.
  16. Something quite similar to the first Correa deal. A one year deal cleverly disguised as a three year deal. A price point somewhere around $22 million for that one year. Over the budget? Sure. Assuming we actually know what the budget is. Boras has been creative before. Never count anything out.
  17. I still think there's one more shoe to drop. Maybe it's a Cease trade. And I'll keep saying that as long as Alonzo remains unsigned and a Scott Boras client, there might be blood in the water for another middle of the night shocker.
  18. At the end of the day I just don't see or want to see Lewis at 2B. Even if for no other reason that I don't want to see a guy made of glass be a target of guys trying to break up double plays. I know, guys aren't supposed to be doing that any more. And that's all fine and dandy. Until they do.
  19. On the other hand, a lot could go right on the position player side as well. The lineup they could field on opening day, Jeffers, Lewis, Lee, Correa, Castro, Larnach, Buxton, Wallner, Julien is can win. It's depth that concerns me. And left handed pitching, for and against.
  20. Slice it anyway you want. I'm going to be paying extra for something that I have not paid extra for in the past. I learned something last year when I went without that product for three months. I'll get by just fine without it.
