  1. The Undead speaks! And if you are on here around 8, we will also know why!
  2. During his news conference, did St. Peter mention the TF Experience?
  3. If he took a team friendly discount, then it would be in bad form to flip him. And of course in MN, trading locals is always frowned on. But to me, this all seems moot, as this FO is anything but proactive. Something to look forward to is how, or not, Perkims handles being dropped in the pecking order. I don't think it's gonna be pretty!
  4. Someone overrated our SP? I am going to the SW corner of my moms basement to reflect on that concept!
  5. Whether it be most, quite a few, or some of them believing it, there was a lot of speculation that Plouffe would be traded. A dollar to a dozen donuts Miguel was amongst them. This is not a Plouffe tirade, it's the observation that at 22 Sano could have believed that as easily as at 52. Frankly I was far more easily frustrated at that age than I am now. Impatience and impetuity are more likely equated with youth than with maturity!
  6. There's an awful lot of IF'S there. But one must remember these are IF'S that were consciously put in place. Sano in RF, the BP, Park, and in essence mostly the same starting staff. And while the SP has been above their norm, there is no reason to expect that to continue. Veteran mediocre pitchers may on a rare ocassion find another gear for a year, but not often and not collectively. While there a lot of IF'S, the one that intrigues me the most is the relationship between Sanos hitting and RF Experiment. Something seems amiss. I know he said all the right things, but his actions in the off season, and from what I can gather was not exactly a mad rush to ST early to work on The Experiment causes me to wonder if the he is distracted or disgruntled. Everyone has a slump, but his has made me wonder if the move to the OF is impacting his bat? The Twins lost two years in development of Sano and Buxton to injuries, and one year of development to the faux title run last year. So, I wasn't even expecting a WC chase this year, but was hopeful they would use the year to make adjustments to the awkward roster situation and integrate some more youth. Time will tell!
  7. I don't go to a game and cheer like a fiend, nor boo like one either. Sometimes I am appreciative, and sometimes I am bewildered. I am surprised at how surprised some are. Taking away the month of May last year left the Twins with a 63-72 record. I realize you can't just throw out the good, but May did seem an outlier. So we move to 2016. And what exactly did we do to improve? Same SP. did not improve the BP from within, or out. Added a high SO power hitter, 29 yrs old, who has played the equivalent of A ball during his career. Moved an enormous kid to RF, with predictable results in the field, and disastrous results at the plate. And kept a 22 yr old CF, who was sure to struggle, at least initially. (I think he will eventually be fine, or way better than fine). For some reason Some thought this would be a contender out of the chute. Based on? Whether you think booing is proper at this time or not, is one question. The other is, are you sure you aren't really booing your own Pollyanna like projections, which were likely overly optimistic to begin with!
  8. omg, get out of bed, go downtown to the brew pub, old bank on th left side. Vunder Bar
  9. I used to use that after a shower, drove the wife wild!
  10. He needs time to acclimate to this level of play!
  11. As a rule, yes. But we are in Twins Territory, where hitting for a veteran is highly frowned upon. It is deemed a lack of respect!
  12. I heard Chief is ecstatic....... Oh wait, they said he was beside himself!
  13. Is there really an afterlife, and if so why does He let us suffer watching this?
  14. you have just touched on several of the negative issues dealing with being the guest of honor at a sacrifice!
  15. Brian, the best way to get along in a truck stop, walk up to the biggest trucker there, slap him on the back, and loudly proclaim: "ahhh hear dat gooood buddddy." Another tip! Showers are really expensive, sometimes if you go into the lounge, and ask one of the guys if he minded if you shared his shower, you might save $15 bucks! Of course sometimes you wont!
  16. I don't think he was volunteering himself as the sacrifice. Perhaps a poll to see who it should be. For baseball gods, does the sacrificial entity have to be a virgin?
  17. Once again? You mean there was another time?
  18. You were maybe lucky it didn't go faster! Going fast isn't the problem, stopping can be. . We had a Budget, some guy in the same size rig from a different rental blew by us on 80 in WY, slow down signs flashing all over the freeway. 2 miles later we found him jackknifed in down a 20 fr embankment. patience is a virtue!
  19. My oldest daughter and I moved her sister from Medford OR to SO MN in winter. 3 days, 2000 miles, two blizzards, 3 road closings for weather, pulling a SUV on a trailer, no F*^€ing cruise control, and a CAT! One of the worst drives, and the most fun I have ever had. There is a Shell station in West Wendover NV that is still standing despite her best efforts. Top question of the trip: "why don't they put those cows in the barn?", when seeing Black Angus out on the WY prairie in the snow. Lol
  20. But this in a nutshell is the Twins. Endless roster decisions driven by contracts, options, and injuries. Oft times talent is fourth on the list of reasons. I personally like Tonkin, but have no idea if he will succeed. But whenever you leave a player with no idea where he stands, or what his role is, you don't do yourself any favors. Asking a short guy to pitch long innings might not work. And it just might not be the players fault.
