  1. If Turner plays CF sign him, if not let somebody else...
  2. Personally, I think it is very likely he will accept the qualifying offer and ultimately sign elsewhere. But I'm not as convinced as everyone that it's a total lock. I don't think that's how it works...
  3. Now hire him as the hitting coach...
  4. Jiminez will be 29 in January, Pagan will be 33 in May. Similar numbers or not, Pagan is not getting the same contract.
  5. Lewis' minor league fielding percentage was .956, Correa's was .968 and Arraez's was .983. What's your point?
  6. Lewis finished healthy, not sure where you're going here...
  7. A QO is an overpay, especially for a pitcher who will be 36 shortly after opening day next season. That being said, according to FanGraphs, he has been worth $12+ MM every season of his career, so maybe 2 yrs $25 MM?
  8. Jeffers cannot be traded before a suitable replacement is in place, I don't want Vazquez behind the plate for 125+ games if 2023 is his norm. While Castro might fetch a better return, I would be more open to trading Gordon, Larnach & Miranda. 1 guy plays all positions covered by these 3 (except 1B) and 2 of them could be highly sought after by the right team(s). Free Trevor Larnach. He deserves a chance, but this FO does not seem willing to give it to him. Package him with Miranda and try to fill some needs.
  9. He didn't, the chart is pre-season projections. Jeffers. actual bWAR and fWAR were considerably higher than Vazquez.
  10. Astro's doing their best Twins impression; bases loaded, nobody out = 0 runs!!
  11. How did winning 100 games turn out for Los Angeles and Baltimore (and maybe Atlanta)? Other than Abreu and Alvarez (7 HR, 14 RBI), Twins pitching basically shut down the rest Houston offense (3 HR, 6 RBI). The offense was bad, but maybe the team builds on experience and a successful playoff run can be sustained for many years going forward.
  12. Very good arguments and astute insights into personal opinions of the obstruction rule. However, I still feel had Rocco challenged, or even went out to just talk to the umpire about the Lewis call, that it may have led to the umpire crew being more aware (much like Maldonado complaining about his pitchers not getting high strikes) and perhaps led to a call for Correa. Perhaps not. The team still won, but sometimes just putting a bug in the umps ear, or making them aware you are willing to challenge, can do big things. We will see going forward.
  13. Just re-watched this play on mlb.com game recap. Lewis had to swing way out to his right to avoid Maldonado standing in the baseline. I think if the game was closer Baldelli may have used a challenge there.
  14. But it's funny when A-Roid calls him out!!
  15. I think Castro agrees with Tucker there.....
  16. According to Baseball Savant it was a called strike 3. But shows the pitch as out of the zone, high
  17. The pitch to Polanco was a strike... and not just because the HP umpire said so.
  18. Lewis looks really good running the bases. Off day tomorrow, maybe he plays the field Tuesday?
  19. 6 IP 88 pitches, 6, 7 & 8 coming up in the 7th, does he get sent back out there? I say yes, but the BP is ready, not getting loose.
