    With all due respect...you don't have a point. If you are taking out Dozier's best year, then take out his competition's best year as well.

    It's only a start, but the recruiting class rating jumped 20 spots in 36 hours. One of the reasons I wanted Claeys fired was the awful recruiting. I'm very hopeful Fleck, over the course of a couple years, is able to recruit at least in the upper half of the B1G.

    Fleck may or may not work out, it's always hard to tell in advance, but this is a home run hire. As much crap as Coyle has gotten in recent weeks, this was a demonstration of how a B1G level AD works. No "committee," no settling, no questions. He obviously knew ahead of time who was available and interested, and went out and got him. Immediately. Despite the serious issues currently surrounding the program. Well done. EDIT: and I concur with NIck...Fleck is nothing like Brewster.

    I disagree strongly with sentences 1 and 2. Very strongly. I'm not sure what you mean by sentence 3.

    Sounds like Fleck. IMO that's the best possible outcome. I hope in 4 years or so we're terrified he's leaving.

    "...a bullpen with too many pitchers who can't function unless used optimally becomes unnecessarily hard to manage." That's an excellent point. Having a LOOGY in the pen is OK, even a valuable weapon if used properly. More than one starts to become a liability, particularly when starters in general--and forthe Twins in particular--provide fewer and fewer innings. This is made worse for the Twins when they also feature RH relievers who struggle against LH hitters. Molitor is part of the problem, but what the Twins really need in the pen is fewer questions and better talent.

    To what end? I don't understand the antagonism toward college sports. It doesn't cost taxpayer money. Don't watch it if you don't like it. Why campaign to deny others?

    Trading Dozier for De Leon leaves you with one extra iffy starter, with an innings limit to boot, and Escobar at shortstop.

    The problem is, the odds of De Leon turning into an ace are also slightly north of 0%.

    The Twins will almost certainly be a better team next year if Brian Dozier is here. There is very little chance De Leon makes the 2017 Twins better than Dozier does. Maybe by 2018. Dozier is potentially gone in 2019, so pretty good chance by then. And I also disagree on Dozier's potential trade value during this coming season. There is a reasonable chance a team or two decides they really need Dozier. Lets just see what LA offers if they stumble out of the gate, Utley is a gaping wound at second, and LH pitching is eating them up. How much pressure do you suppose they will be under to do something?

    Sigh...this isn't about patience. This is about their play in 2016. Buxton will be the 2017 Center fielder, and should be. Kepler in a corner. I'd try to make Rosario my fourth outfielder, but the Twins won't. But their play in 2016, while they had their hot streaks, was overall pretty far below average. Certainly not at a B level on a A-F scale.

    No matter what you think these top four 2016 Twins outfielders MIGHT become, there is no possible way they deserve three B's and a C. That's crazy talk. If They get three B's, what letter do you give Mike Trout?

    And as it turned out, the Twins would have been better off keeping Santana for his last year, rather than trading him for a couple shiny trinkets.
