  1. Gonna wager you didn't watch yesterday's game.
  2. They're also at their highest payroll ever. But most of the targets they'd have been after just don't cost much. And FTR, average attendance is actually up around 1700 per game over last year. Not at 2019 levels, but then recovering from 2020 has been slow for most every team. Dunno, but your thought is at least worth considering.
  3. I don't think everyone agreed. At least not with the second part. I've never understood how he could be healthy enough to run the bases but not healthy enough to run the outfield. That just doesn't seem perfectly reasonable to me.
  4. Just another example of new and "analytical" doesn't equal useful or insightful. Check out xBA for another example. Duran wasn't 5 times more responsible for that loss than any other player. He didn't even give up an earned run. In fact, I wonder if that's not an error. It happened previously this year.
  5. I think the season turned with Seattle in town. 9-2 coming out of the AS Game, rare successful west coast road trip completed, one W vs Seattle in the books, up 6-2 on Seattle going into the top of the 8th...and Jovanni Moran happens. Four batters later it's tied. All the good vibes, gone. Lose that game followed by 4 more in a row and back in the ****. Almost entirely due to the bullpen, too.
  6. Some piss poor play, some piss poor managing, some piss poor GMing, with Ortega not available today and a replacement an hour plane ride away. No bullpen tomorrow, with Texas in town.
  7. Willy Adames. .212/.295/.393 on the season, and we can't get him out. One bad pitch after another.
  8. C'mon, Lewis. Gotta be better than that 1-0 swing. Terrible.
  9. But the ultimate issue is...there's too few bullpen options. Which should have been addressed last winter, and readdressed at the deadline.
  10. Winder, I guess. Prefer that to Winder in the 10th with a runner on 2nd to start. And at this point I KNOW for a fact I have to get through the 10th, at least, to win the game.
  11. I agree with this. I don't use Duran until the 10th here.
  12. I think they're pretty much EXACTLY a .500 team. They started 10-4. Since then? 55-57.
  13. I'd sure take it, but they don't deserve to win this game. Now have burned through Pagan, Thielbar, Jax, and Duran, to boot. With Texas in town tomorrow.
  14. But we do know. Luplow oh-fer with a GIDP. The other options was Wallner. Against a RH starter. THey end up PHing Wallner, for Luplow...against a RHer. Who else was he going to PH for?
  15. That's how you lose games. Just pathetic.
  16. He'd be in the same spot, He's PHing for Luplow.
  17. He was good for the Twins, but he hadn't gotten a start in the big leages since 2018, when he started 2 of 9 appearances. The Twins didn't move him to the pen.
  18. THIS close to getting out of this inning on less than 10 pitches.
  19. I think the entirety of that deal was getting Lopez off the team, not Floro ON the team. Getting Miami to take him, and get him closer to his family, was a nice bonus.
  20. Jeffers had nice fat FB to hit on the first pitch of the AB. Let it go by unharmed. End AB.
  21. I'm tempted to say "50%" but that'd be dangerously close to math on a game thread.
  22. Can't believe they're letting Thielbar pitch to Adames.
  23. Very lucky that's a single to left. That ball was smoked.
