  1. I wonder who ya gotta know to score ducats to those seats behind home plate. Look pretty cool.
  2. Well, in my defense, this was maybe 45 or so years ago... ...so I was somewhere in my 90s.
  3. Ha. I got a chance to play against Eddie and his court once. Not exactly sure, but pretty sure I took an oh-fer.
  4. Nope. As I said, the place was electric. Unbelievably loud and into it. It was the opposite of dreadful. Don't need 45-44. Just need energy and excitement. This game had it. The pick to end the first half was cool as hell.
  5. On another positive note, I flew back to MPLS on a whirlwind 1 day trip to see the Gophers take on Nebraska. Well worth it, I'd say it was the 3rd best sporting event I've ever attended. The atmosphere at Huntington Bank Stadium was ... impossible to adequately describe. Completely nuts. Do yourself a favor and take in a Gopher game.
  6. I guess one could say Ryan is recently off the IL, but it wasn't for arm issues. So that shouldn't be a reason.
  7. Luplow and Vazquez with clutch oppo dingers. As expected.
  8. I hope against hope the 2024 Twins are good enough to leave both Martin and Lee in AAA. In the case of Martin, pump the breaks a bit. And in the case of Lee, there has never in the history of baseball been a team hurt by having too many good players. I hope he wins a AAA MVP and there's no room for him. But the reality is, if he's good, he'll get an opportunity.
  9. Heh. I rest my case, "whippersnapper."
  10. And I believe MLB needs to reexamine the second half waiver process. Dumping players into a pennant chase is bad for the sport, and the specific reason there are trade deadlines. This entire situation can't become the norm.
  11. You keep repeating this 5% chance mantra as if there is actually some factual basis for it. There isn't
  12. Or moves a runner(s). Zero percent of Ks drive in a run.
  13. Your argument should be with the person claiming Jeffers has been "more impactful offensively" than Arraez. He hasn't been.
  14. Add me to the list of people thinking that dumping players into a pennant chase is unsportsmanlike at best, unethical at worst. This is crap. Regardless if the Twins end up with Moore or Renfroe.
  15. Plenty of blame to go around, but IMO putting Funderbunk into that situation was just plain bad managing. Worse than bad. Please don't try to tell me "managers don't matter." Worst loss of the year.
  16. All true, except the part about Thielbar , and none of that excuses letting Mark Funderbunk lose this game when he wasn't the last guy left in the pen. That's an error at least as bad as those you listed. I'd say miles worse. And let's not forget somehow having Gallo start the game but decide that's a bad idea in his SECOND plate appearance against THE SAME PITCHER.
  17. This bullpen just isn't good enough. Never was, from day 1. Front office malpractice. All that said, putting a nobody like Funderbunk into that situation unnecessarily is just stupid.
  18. *By one measure for a partial season .... Arraez has scored or driven in 108 runs minus HRs so as not to count that run twice) Jeffers, 50. Which is "more impactful" when measuring things that actually impact games, rather than spreadsheets?
