  1. However, it does cleanup a needed position in the rotation (May, minor leaguer, whatever ). Trade Pelfrey while ( if ) he has some value to contending teams would help stock the minor league teams. So I'd say you're walking of a dime, maybe even a quarter
  2. A 1,000 times NO. He gets TRADED. His contract is up at the end of the year and the Twins are in desperate need of talent.
  3. A panel discussion of whom?
  4. Seems like all the other teams have "person in the know" people who are leaking trade rumors. Why not the Twins???
  5. I've always been a big fan of rotating MiLB players in and out of the MLB. Over this trade season there's been a HUge difference of opinion on some MiLB players value/propects status. Run them up north and use them a lot. If successful, great! If not, well now you know what they need to work on. Really sad to hear about Alex Meyer's "breakdown". Is it time to shut him down for the season or the proverbial "fish or cut bait" moment??
  6. Arcia reminds me a lot of Greg Luzinski. He's really stiff out there. Buxton: if he follows that same path as Hicks, he certainly produce in MLB. Parker explained it very well here what Hicks did [ commit his front foot ]: http://twinsdaily.com/_/minnesota-twins-news/aaron-hicks-hes-so-hot-right-now-r3994 Kepler: Projectable sweet swing. Like a young Joe Mauer? Rosario: Always been a fan.
  7. Justin Upton straight up for Hicks OR Rosario and they'll also take Nolasco?? Make it Rosario and I'd jump all over this. To me, if Padres insist on Hicks, we gotta have more [whatever that might be]. Twins can use the extra power hitter and an extra free spot on the pitching staff.
  8. The only thing Molitor needs to say is "Keep your eyes out of the sports section and your heads in the game".
  9. I haven't commented yet, can I still play I really haven't thought that much of Perkins, although I admit it's because of the lame Save rules. I guy that starts the 9th, no one on base, and a lead doesn't deserve a Save. Anyway, I find Perkins is a serviceable closer. I'm not so sure that they could get a big return for Perkins alone.
  10. I don't believe it was in TR's plan to have Hunter play 75 of 89 games in RF. The only known other team that was after Hunter was Texas. And that was as a reserve. The question is: why did Ryan pay Hunter $10mil, plus a no trade contract when, apparently, no one else wanted him? And the comment about TR and Molly not caring about developing the younger guys is complete nonsense. Hicks, Rosario and Sano ring a bell?
  11. HA! Not a single GM on this board If you're serious about improving your team via trade EVERYONE IS AVAILABLE! And if someone asks about Sano, you bet I'd listen. Big talent begets big returns. And, yes, I couldn't get Buxton out the door fast enough.
  12. In theory, Hunter should only been a spot starter / DH / pinch hitter. The dreadful lack of OF's caused him to be played more in the field than he probably should have. As a veteran hitter off the bench/DH I can see it. Otherwise, why would you want to take away development time and space for a young OF'er??
  13. I don't think I'd give up Hicks right now. After yesterday's game, he's now hitting .288. He just has to get over the alligator-arms thing as he's running towards the wall.
  14. Very odd: "UPDATE, 12:26 AM ET: FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal says the Mets actually canceled the deal over long-term concerns about Gomez’s hip. Gomez missed some time earlier this season with a right hip issue, but he has played in all but one of the Brewers’ games since June 23. Another odd turn."
  15. Well, that's not what the online stories have said. But it certainly makes a lot more sense. Thanks!
  16. Well, the Blue Jays had to designated lefty Felix Doubront for assignment to clear a roster spot for Tulo, but I don't see a corresponding move for Hawkins. I take that as, Hawkins was added to make the trade balance out somehow.
  17. Aaron Hicks = Making Byron Buxton irrelevant :-)
  18. Hey Jeremy! Where did you read this? "Everybody around the league is aware of the Twins having Oswaldo Arcia on the block. They are also aware of Arcia’s struggles both defensively and with the making contact offensively. His value is not that of a prime trade-candidate." News to me. But that's nothing new
  19. I don't know why........... 1. Twins would still be shopping for Benoit from the Padres when Latroy Hawkins could be had pretty cheap from the Blue Jays 2. Why they would consider adding to a rotation when they're already sticking starting talent in the bullpen. I think this trade talk is nonsense.
  20. I think Berrios still has a chance. He's been improving at AAA. Sano, not sure why he was brought up. He's in the majors and doing very well as a DH. The only thing holding him back is someone hitting behind him that'll make the pitchers pay for walking him. As for Buxton and the rest of them: I'm not sure there's enough info to fully qualify all as not being impact players. In baseball, many are chosen, few make it...
  21. MLB players for MLB players, I'm guessing. Kind of a short sighted view to building a successful team
  22. I'll dispute that, somewhat. This is Hicks 3rd try at the MLB and it didn't start off all that well. If memory servers, Rosario had a pretty good slump, too. Many TD'ers were screaming for them to be sent down. Molitor was calm and said they just needed to tune some things. Talent is one thing. Being able to perform in front of a big stage, is another thing. That's where managers and coaches come in.
  23. IMHO: Alex Rodriguez show go DOWN in history for what he was and probably still is: a cheater.
