Solid sticks in the system - especially at Rochester (Davis, Gordon, Rooker) could lead to better arms for the Twins in the next week.

Finally a good start on the hill for the Twins. Way to go Jose! Hopefully the next several starters will be able to follow Jose's lead...

Odorizzi needs to go back on the IL. His hot start to the season is a distant memory. He gave them NO CHANCE to win last night. Frustrating to score 12 runs in one game and 7 in the next and still lose both. The problems with the bullpen are significantly magnified but the horrid recent starting pitching. Without better starting pitching the Twins will not make the playoffs. That starts tonight - the Twins *really* need their #1 guy Berrios to step up tonight - especially with Giolitto opposing him.

The probabilities look at the current place in the standings and also upcoming schedule. After this homestand the Twins play a significant amount of games against KC, DET and CWS. Toss in a series against the Marlins and you have (on paper as of now) an "easier" schedule ahead. That contributes to the probabilities.

Lune: Thanks for adding the additional info. My intent was to provide Major with the answers he asked. I also included more than average with RISP. I included Sac Flys and Productive Outs stats. The splits you provided are eye opening. Thanks again for providing those.

Sano hit a Sac Fly in his 3rd game back on May 18. None since. According to baseball reference.com he is 2 for 10 in driving in a runner on 3rd with less than two outs. He has also only had 2 "productive outs" in 22 at bats. He is currently batting .211 with RISP, and only .125 with RISP and 2 outs. Not exactly Mr. Clutch...

The write up says Winder went 8 innings which caught my eye as that would be an extremely rare feat in the Twins system this season. The linked box score says he went only 6 innings. More in line with the system this season. Still a terrific outing.

Gordon UGH! - 0 for 5 with 4 Ks. I'm wondering if he is impacted mentally by the fact that Arraez was given an opportunity and is doing well with it.

Article: MIN 8, KC 7: Losing Streak Snapped Again
puckstopper1 replied to Andrew Gebo's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I totally agree Brock. I'd be curious to see Sano's stats since his injury in 2017. I'd be shocked if he was hitting .200 and was not striking out less than 40% of the time. I really want Sano to be successful but the reality is he may never be the player he was prior to his injury.- 51 replies

Sounds like they should be and have Rooker play some RF in AAA to see if he can handle it. It would make him more valuable to the big league squad.

Hmmmm. We still hear about the LAST time the Twins traded for the Senator's closer! His 2-0 record and 16 saves helped the Twins win the division in 2010. If Doolittle can do that, I'm all for adding him to the pen. Another solid lefty out there would be nice.

Cody states: "On the mound, Devin Smeltzer went five strong innings, striking out seven and walking one. He allowed three runs, all of which came off two home runs." Sorry, but I'm not sure I agree with the "strong" qualifier...

SOOOO glad Garver's injury did not impact his hot start at the plate. The dude has an OPS of over 1100! Who would have thunk it coming into the season. I certainly be loving me some Garvsauce!

IMO losing the game is less painful for Twins fans than losing Carrasco is for Indians fans. His ailment might explain why he has struggled this season.

The Twins system has turned into a freakin M*A*S*H unit this year with all the injuries. Very concerning. Was there any systemic changes that were made that would contribute to all of these injuries?

Article: TB 14, MIN 3: Well … That Just Happened
puckstopper1 replied to Andrew Thares's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Totally agree Bunt! Our pen looks to be in great shape going into tonight's tilt. That is an accomplishment given that the Rays put up two touchdowns on the Twins yesterday.
