The Guardian trades of Bauer and Clevenger are not good comps to the Twins trading Ryan. Both Bauer and Clevenger appeared to be weird people, who probably needed to be traded for the good of the team. Joe Ryan, while unique, is a great teammate, and is team orientated. He is a talented, cerebral pitcher, not just a thrower. I am opposed to trading a player just because he is at his "peak". Keep him at his peak and win today. The future is now. Tomorrow is always a day away.

I understand your points, but I feel Baltimore needed to draft college pitching way more than Baltimore needed to draft 2 more catchers and another lefty hitting OF'er. In other words we disagree on the theory of drafting for need vs. drafting the best available player. I realize I have over simplified our differences by my statement above, so I'm going to take a nap. LOL.

CH, I too was initially hoping the Twins would draft Ike Irish at 16, but I wonder why he didn't catch much, if any, this past season. I know he had a broken scapula, but I don't know how much that factored into the decision for him to play RF this season after the injury. He may have played RF because he is too good a hitter to risk injuries at catcher. Or Auburn's second string catcher may have been better than Auburn's second string RF'er. Another considertion is that the Twins top two prospects (Jenkins and Rodriguez) are left-handed hitting outfielders and Irish bats lefty. In addition, Wallner and Larnach both bat lefty also and they are both relatively young and still developing. I just think the Twins have enough young lefty hitting outfielders and didn't want to take a chance on Irish's catching ability.

Thanks Jamie. I am pleased with the two 6' 5" college flame throwers, the power potential with Young and the "fielding first" choice of Houston. The timing is right to start looking for a fielding first SS to be mentored by C-4 to eventually take C-4's place at SS. Brooks Lee is solid, but Houston brings more fielding skill at SS. Lee can do well at 2B or at utility (like Castro- a switch hitter) if LK is the real deal at 2B. Houston seems to be a Noah Miller type fielder, who can make contact with the bat. I like the picks. Now it's time to find a young catcher, with a rifle for an arm.

Ryan, I'm sorry I upset you. I understand your points. It's all OK. Let's be friends. We live 30 miles apart in North Carolina. By the way, I had no high school glory days. I was a terrible pitcher for Statesville High School. LOL. I hope Adams does well in his career.

Ryan, Travis Adams has pitched in 2 games for the Twins. He has pitched 8 innings, allowed 11 hits, 1 walk, 6 earned runs, resulting in an ERA of 6.75 and a WHIP of 1.50. And that is not BS. It is a fact.

What's all the buzz about in Wichita?
tarheeltwinsfan replied to Chris Hove's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
We'd better be careful or MLB will want to break up this dynasty. Just kidding. Great article which gives us Twins' fans lots of hope. -
So far in the two games Adams has pitched, he looked like he was an average AAA pitcher, considering his second major league game was against a AAA team (the Pirates).

The thrill of victory. Such a fun Buck Truck Bobblehead game ! You can't make this stuff up. Buck is amazing. Makes us proud to be Twins' fans. Maybe now NYCTK will pull for the Twins as his "primary team".

Good article John. I agree with you. Rocco is under very close scrutiny from all of us arm chair managers, which includes me too. It's easy for us to be critical after the fact, when we are not the man in the arena. It's hard to be the man in the arena, but I think Rocco does well with being the Twins' manager. He's not perfect, and that's OK. Neither are we.

I'm sorry Severino did not live up to the potential he showed as a very young and power hitting 2B at Elizabethton 6 or 7 years ago. The GM at Elizabethton told me about his power by showing me a light pole, over which Severino had hit a homer. I wish him well, but I understand the Twins' decision.

I like what Bader, Castro and France bring to the team. They play the game with energy and know how to hit. Clemens has added value at defense plus some very clutch hits.

Offer Larry Lee the Twins' bench coaching position, so we can see the Twins play more "West Coast Baseball". The bunt was a thing of beauty. Did Rocco call it, or did Lee do this bunt on his own? It was the right call with Buck at 3rd and no outs. Lee's execution of the bunt was flawless.

Lewis may not want to play 1B, but until he stays healthy and starts hitting better, he's lucky to be on a major league team. Don't get me wrong, Royce Lewis is a most fan friendly player and it appears he is a great teammate, but that and $6.95 will get you a cup of coffee at Starbucks. I wish Royce had not said: "I don't do slumps." If 2025 has not been a "slump", then 2025's stats must be the norm for him.
