  1. We Twins fans who write TD articles and who post regularly here on TD didn't just fall off the turnip truck on the way to town this morning. Bunt the damn ball!
  2. What in blue blazes is going on with the Twins?
  3. It was time for the Twins to move on from Acala and to get what they could, which wasn't much. Good luck Jorge. This was a smart move by Boston and a needed move by the Twins and by Jorge.
  4. I'm sorry that this interesting article was necessary. Pablo could have pitched last night, instead of SWR.
  5. It would be an advantage to be a young baseball player and to have Buck and C-4 as mentors. They are special players who have experienced the highs and the lows of playing baseball for a living.
  6. Except for steals, Gaspar's numbers are the best of the 8 players mentioned. Why is he not number 1 on this list?
  7. The pitch which Cal Raleigh golfed for a home run was a good pitch by Paddock. Sure, it was in the middle of the plate, but it was so low that it may have been out of the strike zone.
  8. Good defense helps make good pitching. I don't want any more "thumpers" who either "thump" or strike out. The Twins batting averages have been steadily improving as the weather has warmed up. Most starting position players are hitting around .250, except for Lewis. Lewis is a mystery to me. I suggest a sports psychologist and Lewis have some long discussions to see what is going on. Or Lewis could just spend some quality time with C-4, who may be one of the smartest baseball players playing today. I would not trade any pitching right now. Even if the trading of Paddock, makes sense "for economic reasons", since he will be a free agent at the end of the year, great teams win now and don't always "wait til next year". Especially during a pennant race, which would send a negative message to the rest of the team. This team has great chemistry. Don't change the formular. The bullpen has been very good. When will Danny C. return? He is an important missing piece of this puzzle.
  9. My eye test and the TV strike zone box seemed to show that home plate umpire, Mr. Austin Jones, was awful at calling balls and strikes last night. In fact he has replaced retired umpires, Joe West and Angel Hernandez (they were tied), as my least favorite umpire.
  10. It was an interesting game to watch Mike. I enjoyed Adam Wainwright's inciteful comments during the game about pitching and the interview during the game with Pablo Lopez was a classic interview, which showed the difference between "pitchers" and "throwers". Pablo Lopez has surpassed Camilo Pascual as my favorite Twins pitcher of all time.
  11. Thanks for that post T and R. I'm glad my observations about McC's fielding and speed were not correct.
  12. McCusker is a real liability in the OF. He needs to DH or learn to play 1B, and stop striking out so much.
  13. Mark Twain wrote: "There are 3 kinds of lies: lies, damned lies and statistics." He was implying that statistics can be used in ways to convince folks of something that isn't correct. However many times in my life, I have found find Twain's quote to be a lie.
  14. These metrics verify what my eyes have shown me. Trade Paddock for a young backup defensive catcher, as soon as Paddock has his next decent start.
  15. Great article, Matt. The title was hilarious. I'm glad that Ty France could break the tie and win the game.
  16. Guardians paid $12,000,000 for Santana and Phillies paid $10,000,000 for Max Kepler (hitting ,229 with 5 HR and 39 K;s). France and Bader and Clemens sure do look like great signings by the Twins FO..
  17. France is a professional major league player. He has been a good addition at a great price.
