  1. So far in the two games Adams has pitched, he looked like he was an average AAA pitcher, considering his second major league game was against a AAA team (the Pirates).
  2. The thrill of victory. Such a fun Buck Truck Bobblehead game ! You can't make this stuff up. Buck is amazing. Makes us proud to be Twins' fans. Maybe now NYCTK will pull for the Twins as his "primary team".
  3. Good article John. I agree with you. Rocco is under very close scrutiny from all of us arm chair managers, which includes me too. It's easy for us to be critical after the fact, when we are not the man in the arena. It's hard to be the man in the arena, but I think Rocco does well with being the Twins' manager. He's not perfect, and that's OK. Neither are we.
  4. I'm sorry Severino did not live up to the potential he showed as a very young and power hitting 2B at Elizabethton 6 or 7 years ago. The GM at Elizabethton told me about his power by showing me a light pole, over which Severino had hit a homer. I wish him well, but I understand the Twins' decision.
  5. I like what Bader, Castro and France bring to the team. They play the game with energy and know how to hit. Clemens has added value at defense plus some very clutch hits.
  6. Offer Larry Lee the Twins' bench coaching position, so we can see the Twins play more "West Coast Baseball". The bunt was a thing of beauty. Did Rocco call it, or did Lee do this bunt on his own? It was the right call with Buck at 3rd and no outs. Lee's execution of the bunt was flawless.
  7. Lewis may not want to play 1B, but until he stays healthy and starts hitting better, he's lucky to be on a major league team. Don't get me wrong, Royce Lewis is a most fan friendly player and it appears he is a great teammate, but that and $6.95 will get you a cup of coffee at Starbucks. I wish Royce had not said: "I don't do slumps." If 2025 has not been a "slump", then 2025's stats must be the norm for him.
  8. Alcala has finally been a great reliever the last 5 games...just not for the Twins !
  9. Especially if Luke K can produce at 2B when he returns. Lee, LK, Bader, Vasquez and Royce Lewis bring special extrovert energy to the game. Buck brings a quiet, thoughtful energy that is similar to the introvert energy of Morneau and Mauer and Pablo. Ryan's energy is in a class by himself. He is a different cat. Bottom line, energy fuels the team. Defense, base running and pitching win games.
  10. I'd like to comment some more, but I must go because have some "mechanic" work to do. I've got to put a rear end in a recliner.
  11. Some of you watched a different 9th inning than I did. Sands, not Bride, was the pitcher who gave lost the shutout. Sands needs to do something differently, quickly. I also suggest that Rocco order everyone to arrive at the ball park 4 hours early than they had been arriving, so the players can cat nap, play cards, socialize and relax before the game, so they can score 10 runs.
  12. I am sorry, but I can't do this. I live in North Carolina. The Twins don't care if I watch them or read a book. However. this mess is not good for me.
  13. Thanks for this article Cody. I needed to read this encouraging news today. Baseball is a funny game.
  14. Two Positives: At least Ober didn't walk anyone. Lee made a spectacular catch the start the game, dodging the umpire and the 3rd base coach to do so.
  15. Nick, Unfortunately your article about the Twins returning to rock bottom, was spot on. Every year I go to spring training at Fort Myers, get excited and worked up about this being the year the Twins will win the World Series, then this happens. The losses pile up. I count how many years it has been since 1991. Then I get discouraged. Then the draft comes around and injuries happen and the Twins fall further and further behind the Tigers/Guardians/Royals/White Sox and then the Yankees come to town and we are humiliated again. But you know what else happens? Twins' baseball ceases to be fun for me and I shake my head and wonder what is wrong with the Twins. If I had a normal life, instead of my asking, "What is wrong with the Twins?", I would be asking the question, "What is wrong with me for spending my time like this?" But I don't have a normal life. I'm addicted to being a Twins' fan. However, I don't have any other addicted Twins' fans here in North Carolina, with whom to bond. I'm alone, adrift in a sea of mediocracy...a sea of despair. Cognitive dissonance is a term some have used to explain sports fans' blind loyalty, in spite of the same disappointing results being repeated year after year. I'm not sure if that is correct, but I do know I have just spent the last hour of my life trying to understand and explain why I keep doing this.
