    Emma's power may be rated the highest of any Twins prospect. But not his hit tool. He strikes out too much and chases pitches out of the strike zone. Emma will be a good major league player soon due to his impressive power and fielding skills.

    But Houston's fielding is a thing of beauty at the key position. He knows what he has to do He is smart. I bet he will improve his hitting this year.

    Not yet, but he is only 19. He will be an amazing player for the Twins soon. He has a nice, fan friendly attitude. I discovered that at spring training this year when we had a conversation and he gave me a baseball that he and Dasan Hill had been throwing.

    What do I know. Outman hit 2 homers today...4 for the spring training season. Plus he can run like a scalded cat.

    Keaschall did nothing to impress me on defense at spring training. But his hitting and base running certainly did. I wonder if he should get a first baseman's glove and start practicing scooping up low throws from Lewis and Lee?

    Sorry I missed seeing you at spring training. I agree that Abel was incredibly intriguing. I want to see Houston at SS for the Twins, sooner rather than later. He is a joy to watch fielding that key position. I am also interested to see how Ober does. So far, he has struggled. And Dasan Hill and Edwardo Tait are the real deals.

    It is too late to trade Ober for any player, except some really young players. Since Ober is a mystery, why not put him in the bullpen and give him a chance to work things out as a reliever. This would solve two problems with one move.

    Look to St Paul for the extra depth. It's cheaper and we will give the successful ones needed experience and we will send the unsuccessful ones back to St Paul.

    Good article Nate. I hope this becomes a trend of letting the youngsters play for the Twins big league club earlier in their careers.

    In 2023 Gallo had 282 at bats. He struck out 142 times. He batted .177. Watching him at bat for the Twins almost drove me crazy. You are correct about Margot, the Twins' record setting, "pinch hitting specialist".

    I hate this for Mathews, but it is not the end of his world. Abel beat Mathews by a wide margin. In fact in spring training Abel pitched the best of any Twins starter...and SWR and Bradley weren't bad. The Twins might still have a top of the line starting rotation. Maybe Falvey actually achieved this part of what he was hired to do. Plus Dasan Hill will be up sooner than we think. When Hill adds experience, muscle and strength, he will be an amazing addition to the starting rotation.

    The Twins have the worst record in the spring training grapefruit league and second worst in the entire major leagues. Uh...not that it matters. Yea...nothing to worry about here. I propose 3 preseason exhibition games between the Twins final 26 man roster and the St. Paul Saints final roster and the winner gets to play the major league schedule and the loser gets to play the AAA schedule.
