2 quotes from "Gone with the Wind" seem appropriate to this Minnesota Twins fan: "I'll think of it tomorrow, at Tara. After all, tomorrow is another day." and "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn!"

Winning teams, not just good coaches, begat successful young players. Which come first, the chicken or the egg?

We're already writing a lot about prospects and draft positions 10 months from now.. It is still August. There is a game tonight. It's going to be a long winter.

Jimenez arrived from Detroit in the Paddock trade, not from San Diego.

Not quite. $33,000,000 of C-4's salary is still due to the Astros for taking Correa from the Twins.

Does it have anything to do with his time in the big leagues? I don't know if keeping him in the minors helps the Twins in the long run financially. It sure looks like he is a better option than Adams and Ohl.

Five Ways the Twins Can Salvage 2025
tarheeltwinsfan replied to Eric Blonigen's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I have found that being a Twins fan has meant, "Wait til next year". I guess I'm OK with that. I've been doing exactly that with this franchise for 70 years. Only twice in 70 years has my loyalty to this franchise been rewarded with a championship. My advice to the younger Twins' fans (which is basically everyone reading this post) is "If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen now, while you can". And on that happy note, I'm going for a morning walk in the beautiful farmlands of North Carolina. -
Fitzgerald is a smooth fielding SS, based on what I saw in spring training this year. Tonkin walks too many batters. I can excuse the hits, but the walks by a late inning reliever, are so frustrating.

I'm not any more excited about any of them, than I am about Culpepper.

Well said Doc. However I live in North Carolina but have been a Senators/Twins fan since 1954 when I was 9 and discovered baseball when my grandparents lived in Washington, DC, where I was born. If anyone here on TD has pulled for this same franchise longer than I have, I'd like to hear about it. Until I hear differently, I will self-proclaim myself the Senior Washington Senators/Minnesota Twins fan. I chose watch the Twins because I enjoy it. I have visited beautiful Minneapolis several times to see the Twins play baseball and to I go to the Twins spring training at Ft. Myers every year because I enjoy it. I do not have the philosophy of "Love it or leave it". I'm stuck with the Twins and the Twins are stuck with me. Yes, I fuss and criticize the Twins some, but that is part of the deal in being a sports fan. So Doc, come on back into the fold and start watching the Twins again. And if I see you at spring training in 2026, I'll buy you a Killebrew Root Beer.

I could see Moose at 1B. But right now I would rather have Brooks Lee at bat, rather than Wallner at bat, when the game is on the line. But with Wallner at 1B, the OF would have Buck, Jenkins and E-Rod or G. Gonzales? Not bad. Lewis, Culpepper, Keaschall and Wallner in the IF. Jeffers at C, backed up by ? at catcher. Brooks Lee at Utility?

Of all the players in the Twins organization, which player would be the best fit at 1B, and hit accordingly with some power, the next 5 to 8 years at the major league level? I think it could be Brooks Lee. Who do you think it could be?

The top draft selections of the Twins for the last 3 years all had good games. Get rid of the old deadwood and let the Wichita youngsters learn with on the job training at AAA. It makes no real difference whether Wichita wins the regular season conference and/or the conference tournament.

The Twins need to get rid of any older deadwood (Tonkin) and add Morris, Gonzolez, Prielipp and maybe Oliver and Cardenas. Sorry to leave out Cory Lewis and Rosario.
