  1. Years ago it was Spahn and Sain and pray for rain. Soon it will be Berrios, Graterol and Romero and pray for snow.
  2. Thanks Tom for these wraps. I have enjoyed every one of them...win or lose. Although I enjoy the wraps more when the Twins win.
  3. Your proposed lineup will stop a lot of grounders with 2 SS, but an empty LF may be a problem.
  4. I've read the article and all the comments to this article from my knowledgeable TD friends...and I am more discouraged now than before I read these solutions. If a player is not hitting, and is leading the world in strikeouts, the player doesn't play on my team, if I have someone who I think will be better. Sano needs a dose of reality and needs to be sent to AAA. Reward good results and punish bad results. Bring up Gordon. Both Sano and Gordon have earned changes of scenery. Buck needs to bunt more...at least once a game. Then he can rattle the other team with his speed. All sorts of good things happen for the Twins with Buck on base. Dozier needs to hit to the opposite field much more. Players need to bunt against an extreme shift. Stop emphasizing this love affair with swings which result in either a SO or a grounder into the shift or a long fly out. These guys are professional hitters They should be able to "Hit 'em where they ain't". The object is not for an individual to lead the league in HR's and SO's. The object is for a "team" to win. Please tell me where I'm wrong with my suggestions. Help me understand that this game is more complicated than what I think, and that what I have suggested shows my lack of knowledge about how to win at baseball. Then educate me about how to score more runs than the other team through 9 innings.
  5. Trade for Realmuto. Gordon would love to be in Florida, near his family. Pitchers are so unpredictable. Realmuto is the Realdeal.
  6. Just wow! What an incredible report. Thanks for boosting the hope of all Twins' fans who read TD.
  7. OK...So except for Lewis, a little early to see what we have here. Correct?
  8. Like Annie sang:: "Tomorrow, tomorrow, I love ya tomorrow, it's only a day away".
  9. Willie Keeler would have loved the shift.
  10. Thanks for a great post about diminishing exciting plays in baseball. I got excited just reading it.
  11. This does not equate to Francona being a better manager than Molitor. The last 4 seasons Cleveland's record was 362 wins vs. 284 losses (.560 win percentage), while the Twins had 297 wins and 357 losses (.454 win percentage)...plus Cleveland's FO gave the Indians arguably the best relief corps , while the Twins had arguably the worst. The relievers on the team had a lot to do with one run wins and one run losses. I submit the credit/blame lies in the front offices, not the field managers. But then Falvey was with the Indians FO part of that time and now with the Twins FO...I don't know how to factor that variable.
  12. Initially, before I read this article, I thought the title to this interesting article was describing the current Twins' season.
  13. What about Lynn to the bullpen? Or trade Lynn to a contender for some prospects.
  14. I really think there will be progression toward the norm for most of these below .200 hitters. In order to bat .240 for the season, they will have to hit .300+ for 2 months and .240 for 2 months.I feel a surge coming on.
  15. I said it before, and I'll say it again...Twins will be in 1st place by July 4th.
  16. These problems will be solved with some games against the Detroit Kittens, the Chicago Faded Socks, and the Kansas City Commoners. Hang in there until July when Santana and Polanco and maybe May and hopefully Mauer return and I predict the Twins will be in first place by July 4th, 2018.
