    Let's compromise and say they target a payroll in the range of 150-170M. Nobody would complain about that. And "if" they are in need of a big trade or signing to put them over the top these potential owners wouldn't hesitate to spend the money.

    That's where his brother comes in most likely as a minority owner. To be honest I would be happy with a 150-160M payroll. You build the team the right way and flip assets to keep the cycle going. There's no way any new owner spends like LA or NY. They can only do it because of their massive TV deals.

    Then they also need to sign a veteran catcher as well. A bunch of garbage catchers have been getting 8.5M a year so unless they dumpster dive they will end up spending a good chunk on a backup catcher.

    Rushing bat looks too good to be a catcher. I would end up moving him to 1st base and would pass on Walker for $20M. I honestly wouldn't feel bad bringing back Carlos Santana for another year.

    I would understand this idea if they didn't owe Vasquez $10M and had another MLB ready catcher in the organization. Camargo isn't either the answer or ready yet to be a MLB player.

    We shall see. The FO moves could be cost cutting measures. To me it makes no sense why they should care what the people say about them. I wouldn't sell a goose that lays golden eggs. Owners are billionaires and they aren't billionaires because they are in business to lose money. Yes, they can afford to lose millions but most won't. Teams keep payroll at a level so they make money. The only problem is they don't have to disclose records to say how much they made. The only things people can see is what the teams get from the TV deals.

    Am I wrong or did they say they were exploring the idea of selling the Twins. That doesn't mean they are going to be sold. Washington & LA Angels owners also were exploring the idea of selling their teams and neither did.

    I would be all for a trade. All you have to do is look at the injury history and things only get worse as a player ages. There's no reason the Twins even signed Correa in the first place. Let's just say the Twins have a payroll of 150M in 2025 Correa would be eating 25% of the payroll. Then the biggest question would be who would be the SS in 2025?

    If your prospects aren't ready I could see them bring in some low cost veterans that they could flip for even more prospects. With the talk about the White Sox for sale isn't this the wrong approach? I would spend and back load the contracts and let the next owner to deal with it.

    I can guarantee the Twins would have got a better return last winter. Regardless, the Twins should be shopping him if they can cash in a big haul. These power arms don't last forever.

    Pretty sure the Sox are cutting payroll for 2025 and knowing them they will be ready in 2026 to compete. Kind of a hard reset. Fans won't like another bad year. But if it gives them time to not rush their prospects they should be back in 2026.

    They still need to address the closer situation. In all honesty the best thing would have been to deal Duran last winter for a massive haul and they could have either signed a veteran closer or gave the role to Jax. Now, Duran has a very low trade value compared to last year and they have no choice but to hold onto him. I still feel Jax is the best option in house.

    You could have made this post pretty much anytime this year. Probably in June or July would have made sense as well as now. If Julien wants to continue his MLB career he should be trying to play 1st base.

    When Brooks Lee came up he was hitting the ball all around the field. Then it seems like the Twins decided that Lee should be swinging for the fences and then he went into his slump. Not every hitter is a power hitter. You can't hit a 3 run homer without base runners. Let Lee go back to what he was and watch him get back into a groove.

    You never like to see injuries but this may be a good thing going into 2025. It gives the Twins plenty of time to see if Wallner or Larnach perform playing on an almost daily basis.

    It doesn't matter what Varland wants. The Twins own his rights and if they want him to move to the pen his only choices are accepting it or retiring. Louie could probably be a shut down closer or 8th inning guy if he put his mind to it.

    Courage? I'm sort of confused here. Let's try this one. If Joe Mauer played his entire career at 1st base would he be in the HOF?

    Of course Boras wants Lewis to stay at third. If he can stay healthy and keep hitting bombs he will be in for a large contract. Then after a year he can pull a Mauer and become the Twins DH.
