  1. Twins traded Luis Gil to the Yankees for Jake Cave. Luis Gil is now the Yankees #4 prospect.
  2. Don't forget about Luis Robert once he comes up. The #3 prospect in MLB. The Sox should pass Cleveland in 2020 and if the Twins are not careful they will be as well.
  3. So what happens when robo umpire takes over? You just overpaid for a catcher.
  4. Not really, the Twins paid Joe Mauer 23M a year to catch for a couple of years. Then they overpaid for him to play 1st base.
  5. If he has that much interest he will easily get a 5 year deal. Probably like 5/90M. His agent could probably squeeze a 6 year deal out of a desperate team.
  6. They could have probably slipped Raley & Blankenhorn through the rule 5 draft. It's good to see that they have 3 open spots for free agents.
  7. Currently the Twins have 8 open spots to use if they so choose to protect that many. I would expect them to add 6 now for sure. The could take Poppen & Hildenberger off there as well. I have seen a list of players that need to be protected or possibly lose them but don't have the knowledge to decide who stays protected.
  8. Not sure why teams would want to trade for Cruz when they can just sign Edwin Encarnacion as a free agent for probably half the cost. Also, not sure what a full DH would have in trade value anyways. I would also add I think Nelson Cruz was a very valuable veteran presence that the team really needed. I also feel he may have been a great help for Miguel Sano to finally figure things out.
  9. Why trade Kepler when he is signed to a fairly team friendly contract if he continues to perform?
  10. If I was going to cheat why not have some sort of electronic device on the batter. An electric impulse or something to tip the pitch. One for fastball, two for curveball, etc.
  11. Zero chance. Betts has said for a long time he is awaiting Free Agency. Of course if some team was foolish enough to trade for him and then publicly issued an 8 year $275M dealhe would certainly perk up. I would pass for sure. I hate those long term deals especially when the last 2 years at least are a complete waste for the team. (Pujols) is first of many that popped into my head.
  12. Betts trade would be a disaster. Why give up Kirlloff for 1 year of Betts? Could care less about the other 2. I would pass on Rendon and sign Moose to play 3rd. No to Gibson.
  13. 3 batter rule will not speed up the game if he can't get anyone out. Then you bring in another pitcher and hope he can get them out. 10 IL was so easy to abuse with pitchers. It's good that they decided to change it back.
  14. He is no longer a $17M a year pitcher. He most likely ends up with a contender or closer to wherever is home for himself for like 2/25M.
  15. Mod question, how do I correct a word in the title of a topic? Instead of "How to value free agents this winter without knowing what ball the will use in 2020?" I wanted How to value free agents this winter without knowing what ball they will use in 2020? Sorry for the poor grammar on my part.
  16. Sorry for the long title as well as most likely posting it in the wrong forum for starters. I know this sounds like a dumb topic but how can GM's evaluate the free agent class if MLB has not informed teams if they will be playing with "Juiced Balls" like they did in 2019? Teams shouldn't be trying to chase free agent hitters only because of power. If anything pitchers in the free agent class could get hurt the most by the chance of "Juiced Balls" in 2020. There could be quite a few pitchers that had down years in 2019 that could turn into bargains depending on the 2020 baseballs.
  17. Nope. It's probably best for him as well to get a change of scenery and maybe another pitching coach can help him take his game to another level. Good Luck/
  18. The only problem with this is why would Cole come here. Along with the fact he will command a 6-8 year deal 35M+ a year. I will pass on that. We got lucky that Jake Arrietta and Yu Darvish passed on the Twins offers. By the way, how did those contracts turn out for the teams?
  19. We thought the same thing about Anibal Sanchez when the Twins brought him in. Not every guy is going to have a comeback like Sanchez did. Doesn't hurt to bring in a few lottery tickets and hope.
  20. Thanks, I thought since he's not a member of the Twins it should be in other baseball. I'm looking for the low cost high reward possible signing. Jordan Lyles is another name that should be considered as well.
  21. I wonder what people said about Stephen Gonsalves when he was a top prospect? In the right deal almost everyone should be available.
  22. No to the Red's trade and no to bringing back Cron.
  23. I never seem to pick the right forum it seems. Danny Salazar could be a great buy low candidate for the 2020 Twins.
  24. The Twins could be in a little trouble depending on which balls MLB decides to use in 2020. I love a team with speed.
  25. MadBum will either stay in San Francisco or end up with Atlanta. They proved last year with Donaldson that they are not afraid to spend some money. I would expect 4/80M.
