  1. Nothing will change until Lewis and CC either hit or are gone. This could take years.....
  2. how about round three? Four? You never take catchers, you don't sign international catchers, you never trade for catchers, you have no catchers. you end up with Vazquez because you never drafted and developed a catcher. And what's next year? Vazquez or similar. And Jeffers will get expensive or not be good..... So,, good luck.
  3. If you never draft catcher..... You end up with ten million for a guy who can't hit. BPA is a projection, and not every team agrees .....
  4. This. It really is stunning how many people here are stuck in the past. I'm all in on arms, catchers, and athletes. Not interested in mashers who can't run out play defense.
  5. ? Larnach and Wallner are the only two lefties..... What is this obsession with RHH?
  6. They've been awful, truly awful, for years. They don't outclass the Twins. It's not embarrassing to lose to the best pitcher in the AL.
  7. I definitely am in the minority here and another site!
  8. McCusker isn't a poster child for development and drafting at all, one way or the other. They promoted Miranda, Julien, Lee and Keashcell quickly because they were young and good. It didn't always work, and we don't know if it will. I can remain hopeful that at some point they realize LHH should play....... All I literally said was that they seemed to change philosophy three years ago......not that they were good at it. I've called for their heads repeatedly.....
  9. Moving a guy who can't hit well enough at SS to 3B seems like a bad idea.....not that I have a GOOD answer at this point....
  10. that last part is key. Ober is so bad right now, it almost doesn't matter who they bring up to replace him (yes, the ERA might or might not be higher, but when it is this high, it doesn't matter if it is 5 or 6).
  11. I think they either changed philosophy, or it is a coincidence, three years ago. Mostly no more big lumbering guys early.....IF Keaschell and EROD were healthy, I think we'd all feel different about the hitting development right now (though I can't explain Julien and Miranda falling off a cliff).
  12. No. The TWins should be sellers.
  13. Man, I don't get what Miami is doing, other than unloading 2 guys that didn't want to be there. But I'd want A LOT more for Ramsey than that.
  14. I'd probably IL him if his body isn't 100% at this point. This season is OVER, IMO, and I want him healthy next year. As for the replacement? Call up a young guy and get him some experience. But then, I'm on the "see what we really have down in AAA/AA" train at this point.....
  15. Ugh. On the Lewis part. Bride shouldn't be on a roster..
  16. Lottery tickets pay off sometimes. Expiring contracts doing give then anything. Everyone should be available at this point that has less than three years of control.
  17. Alcala being this bad. Buxton being healthy, really healthy. Clemens. Ober struggling. He's got to be hurting. Rocco being extended already.
  18. More likely they have no one to replace him?
  19. The Mets are another good contender (pun!) to trade with.....Fangraphs list up today, btw.
  20. If you never draft a catcher........ It isn't a REACH to take a good hitting catcher. Which catcher has this team developed taken past round 2? Maybe it is how they ignore actual catchers that has put them in this position to pay Vazquez (who can't hit) 10 million.....and not have anyone to replace him at this point, three years later.
  21. I mean, I'd roll the dice on him and put him at first right now. France has been not good since the first moth, and he's not part of the future. But then, I'm all about finding out what they have in these young guys this year, to plan better for next year.
  22. He's on pace for 24 home runs a year, or more really, during this streak. And people say he's not hitting the ball hard enough?
  23. Besides for Mahle,, and others? They totally trade prospects all the time. If you think GG is bad, I don't know what to say at this point.....
  24. I'm not sure where I said I'd deal either of those for him? I said they needed someone like him in the system. I'm also not sure he's 5 years out, but we have no real idea on that, imo. I'd also want one of the two you mention for Duran or Jax....but I can't see getting a AAA player who can play this year for him? Maybe? They also need Larnach or Wallner, both of which are worth way more than one AAA guy. I'd think this is an org that a multi player deal can be done with. I also think the Twins will stand pat and do nearly nothing.
