    They don't have to bring back certain value. But they aren't winning, and there is zero reason not to roll the dice on lottery picks. What is the point of keeping Castro, and getting nothing for him other than 81 wins?

    I mean, if they aren't any better than they have been the last year, and they don't trade expiring deals, I don't know what to say other than I can't wait for this FO to be gone. It's malpractice to stand pat with the way this team has played the last 12 months.

    If you think they can win playoff games, sign Gibson, I guess? But no one else has either..... but I don't, so I'm all in on playing the youth and learning more information about them and getting them experience in MLB. I get not everyone agrees, and I'm ok with that.

    What do you want them to do, right now? There are almost no trades in June.....so what do you want them to do? We have no idea if they think this team is a contender this year or not.....

    But he was supposedly terrible the other years, given they didn't win 48% of their games? I'm suggesting that it isn't as simple as him being great at his job 2 years, and bad the others. They were literally the worst team in baseball one year, this board would have begged for him to be fired that year. Begged.

    Not at all! I'm merely pointing out that our memories are funny. That it might not be as simple as Kelly was great because he won two WS. YMMV,, of course. Some fans want feast and famine (McPhail), other want consistently competitive. I just want entertaining. The journey is LONG, and I'm more into the season being worth paying attention to than the end of the year (last year and this are NOT entertaining). I'm not defending anyone, btw. I've called for them to be let go.....

    Same with Cleveland....they trade for guys all the time. That's "most"? It really amazes me people somehow think trading for Ryan is wrong, bad, proof they don't know what they are doing.....

    skubal and his backup, and also their 3rd or 4th best hitter/fielder (if that is what Lewis is). Yes, they would. Now, the Twins have FALLEN off a cliff, and bounced off rocks on the way down, so I'm not sure Detroit would be this bad, but yes.
