  1. The team still exists after 27.....They aren't getting five starters that are good for the five expiring deals. That's not realistic.
  2. Heck, Lee played 15 games at second in the minors and is struggling there in the majors. Something isn't working at playing everyone at short....
  3. How'd that work for Martin? Or Julien? Or Miranda? They just drafted a SS who should be starting in high A, from college. He's not going to jump Culpeper, Houston, or even DeAndrade. Why play him where he'll never actually play? Get him great at CF or LF or third. Pick two positions , not three or four. Or, keep doing this thing that hasn't worked since this FO got here.
  4. Well, the minors are not filled. And you could get lucky. Would you rather just keep Bader and get nothing? I'm not sure your point?
  5. Why is Winokur still playing SS? He's never going to start there in Minnesota, unless like three guys die. And don't tell me they can always move him later. That's not working for this team at all. Move him to the OF or first base.
  6. Why would you expect him to say stronger language in public? Also, these are professionals, swearing isn't going to fix things..... It's the talent.
  7. I'm not in favor of trading Ryan. But I'd want one high end pitcher, one high end hitter, and two more good prospects back. The high end hitter would need to be in AA or AAA and ready next year. They'd be foolish to deal him now, at least wait until the off-season when there are more bidders. even then......
  8. If they don't sell expiring deals this year......
  9. Agree on that last part for sure.
  10. Mettelus signed a three year extension.
  11. No way I'm trading either. They're basically free and likely get better. I guess if you can get a hitter with five years of control who is already good? But who is doing that trade on the other side? I don't know who is better!
  12. They probably get one 40 value guy? I'd go for a pitcher with only two pitches and make him a RP.
  13. All my potatoes just died. They looked so healthy.... But there's nothing in the ground as far as I can tell. Oh well. Maybe I'll plant beets or beans. My hesitation is the two week trip to Minnesota in September.....
  14. And Gonzalez. Heck, why not push Sabato now and see. There have a tiny window with this staff, and are just doing their normal thing, which has never worked.
  15. WEll, Lee was drafted 1:5, so lots of guys I'd guess (if Lee can't hit). And, it isn't a crapshoot if you mean random.
  16. Hey, I agree....but they aren't giving up on Lewis, CC, Jeffers or Buxton. And they aren't getting rid of both corner OFers, not their style. So, IMO, it will be a challenge.
  17. It's so hard. Lewis, CC, Buxton, Jeffers are here for sure next year. That's 4 of 8 fielders. Then you have Keaschell somewhere if healthy. Martin for Castro. One of Larnach or Wallner ( I can't see them moving on from both, but they both could be back because DEPTH). You really only need a 2B (Lee, Keaschell, ?) and 1B (Keaschell, Lewis, ?) and one corner OF. It is hard to fix if Lewis, Buxton, CC, Jeffers, Wallner don't hit and aren't healthy......
