  1. There was talk he could start at first next year.... But went home early from the AFL for personal reasons. So we didn't learn much.
  2. For allo the talk.... He's pretty much off the team after this year. I'm hard pressed to be unbiased here, as I hated the pick, but I think you have to give McCarthy next year also. I guess if he remains the 49th best QB, not then.... Btw, 49 was random and might be too high.
  3. I figured he's play like a rookie, be around the 20th best QB or so.....he's not even close to that so far. I do think you are 100% committed to him next year also. for better or worse. Will JJ ask for a trade, though, if this is the QB play he gets?
  4. That's fine. I'm still not doing it. He's a FA in 2 years. He's not cheap now. I just don't get this at all from a timing perspective (I think you think they can compete this year, which we disagree on completely - Clemens at first? Lee at SS?, one RP? - no chance).
  5. I'm highly conflicted, but still think it was the right decision.....but I'm not sure.
  6. He was awful other than 6 weeks. He's 30. He's not "young talent" at all.
  7. My mind is boggled that people keep suggesting this. He's not going to be here in 28. He's not cheap. He's declining. This is a bizarre thing to suggest. Truly. I'm mad at myself for even skimming this article.
  8. Next year was the year to do that, though.....unless people thought JJ was going to be ready this year. Now? Now they are over the cap and need to make tough choices.
  9. Ford isn't a placeholder, but partner. I'd try for him for sure. He's young and potentially very good. Ryan for Ford and a prospect or two? Lewis for Ford? I mean, Lewis won't be here when this team is good, most likely.
  10. Sure, but those are different questions. And not the one I was asking. I never liked the pick. I don't know if I will next year or not. But we'll find out in like nine or ten months.
  11. Clemens is not young, and not good. Exactly the kind of guy no team should have as a starter. I'm shocked they'd block anyone young with a bad, old, player. Shocked.
  12. That last question in the one I've been asking all year. Why build this expensive, win now team around McCarthy?
  13. I don't understand why Miami would do this. Minnesota would need to include a top ten or better prospect for this to work.
  14. 90-100 million, is the estimate from some station in Seattle. He was never leaving there.
  15. If he plays a bit worse, he might be older than his rating!
  16. Good thing we didn't take Nix..... Who isn't great, maybe?, but he's good enough to win playoff games..
  17. can't if he doesn't make huge strides. Like I said, he's not even close to mediocre yet
  18. I'd give 5% more to KOC for not running on 2nd and 2 and 3rd and 2 when JJ was scuffling and the D was tired.....but, ya, McCarthy needs to get SO MUCH better to even see average, let alone elite. Good luck with that.
  19. On the plus side, I saw most of a scorigami!
  20. Agreed. The McCarthy apologist will blame others....
  21. Sure, it's possible. It's not likely, and didn't happen. If he's even average this team has two to three more wins.
  22. Can't win with that QB play. Just can't.
