  1. Three of those guys are gone in two years. Trading them doesn't make the rebuild take longer.... I'm very confused by this post.
  2. Then they better add two hitters to this putrid offense.
  3. That front office built this core you like, so I'm very confused.
  4. Zero people have said this. I mean, I have no idea what you want if you think they can't develop players. Just, keep the ones they haven't developed?
  5. Do we think Buxton is dealt? If they deal him, they just have to deal Jeffers, Lopez, Ryan, right? AvatarJason Martinez 2:48 I'll say probably not. The price will be (and should be) ridiculously high considering how good he was in 2025 and how team-friendly the contract is for the next 3 seasons. Even if they expect to go backwards for one more season, they'd have their homegrown superstar on a competitive roster for 2027 and 2028 with a lot of young talent and (hopefully) a higher payroll that allows them to add some impact players. For Buxton, it sounds like he'd be fine with that. If they do trade him, it's really about which teams have the farm systems to acquire him. Dodgers, Mets, Red Sox all come to mind. But it will be costly. I'd guess 3 top-50 prospects and more. Has any player been dealt for three top 50 players? I doubt it. This answer seems off to me.
  6. This was just posted on Fangraphs chat (I'd take any combo of those so fast it would be immeasurable): Ethan 2:05 What’s a fair package for Pablo Lopez if the Mets were to trade for him? Jason Martinez 2:08 Starting pitching is valuable so it won't be cheap. Mets farm system is stacked, though, so they can afford it. For two seasons of Lopez, I'll say either Sproat or Tong, either Jacob Reimer, Jett Williams or AJ Ewing, and maybe a 3rd prospect with high upside but far from the big leagues.

I'd do that so fast my brain would hurt.
  8. They are trying to get him heisman votes, and he's like 110th ranked prospect? It's a great story, 100% fun read for sure. I was shocked how low he was rated!
  9. Just saw a list of all their FAs, and, um, I keep 2, maybe 3, tops? They are going to need a lot of players from this draft.
  10. No way they get more for Ryan at the deadline. Just way less bidders, and 3 months less value. IMO, of course. But he's worth way more now, than later. Same with Buxton. Lopez? I think you could argue teams would want to see him pitch, but I doubt it. They do physicals, and can have him throw if needed. I'm unsure on ticket sales. I think all three of these likely help, but how much, I just don't know.
  11. I'm not the person you replied to, but they did say "consensus", and Tait isn't top 100 on Fangraphs, for example. I love Tait though as a prospect!
  12. Zero chance Cincy gets Buxton. So, that leaves 4.....but Atl doesn't have the prospects, so 3.... I am really on the fence on this, as i think he has 4 years of being good left, so he can be part of a good team. OTOH, he's hurt a lot, and he is older, and he isn't free (which is what they want). I'm guessing Mets or Dodgers at this point, because ATL doesn't have the assets.
  13. I mean, they likely took on debt for every capital improvement they contributed. And anything else they could take on debt for. You make more profit if you invest less and make money (alas, they aren't making enough money for that to work, apparently, or took on more debt at a higher rate than they wanted over time).
  14. actually, maybe one has the ND RB, and one has the CB.....but either way, I'm not rolling that die. Heck, the next pick in the USA mock is a CB. Just take him.
  15. But, if you actually look at, say FG 2025 updated list, filter out teams that won't trade for Ryan....you have a whopping 7 55 value guys available.....probably more like 4......that's not a lot of guys to choose from, so I think you are MUCH more likely to get 2 50 value guys at this point.....
  16. What has history shown for mediocre teams just drafting and developing and not signing elite players or trading for them? History shows that it doesn't work either (might for a year or two, maybe). The only strategy that works consistently for winning is spending money.......
  17. Tough call for me....because 2 eggs in the basket are more likely to produce a chicken, to stretch a metaphor. That said, I want elite players in this system......so, um, not sure? Good question! Me? I'm packaging him and two middling SP minor league players for 2 elite/great prospects and two more lower ranked ones. Like, Ryan, Raya, and Morris to NYM for their top two SP prospects and 2 more of their good prospects. Turn their surplus of decent prospects into more top prospects by leveraging them with Ryan. Note I doubt NYM do this....
  18. The two CBS mock drafts both have the Vikings taking the same CB......
  19. God no. No way I take a CB that early wtih that injury. No. Just. No.
  20. Haven't looked at that yet.....but here are my top needs (other than QB) DT, CB, OL (C, OT, OT, OG), WR (esp. if they deal Addison, as they should), RB, TE Now that I've typed that......I think I'd want DT, CB early as possible.
  21. He should go to Cincinnati.
