So, never make a trade because bad trades happen? I'm not sure your point here at all. How about Cruz for Ryan, does that prove you should always trade a guy with one year left?

That's not actually true, if you believe in catcher ERA. Vazquez is one of the worst hitters in baseball history. No defense can make up for a guy that hits like a SP used to hit.

2 all star RPs (not sure they have one legit RP right now), a HOF SS, career years from certain players....and that got 75, 82, and 87 wins..... Their SS isn't even an average SS, let alone HOF.

Interesting idea. I hate the FAs you suggest signing, but that's not your point. Why anyone would want the twins to trade for guys with less than three years of control is beyond me. I agree with others, Ober had little value, but I'd deal him fast if you get even a decent return. The one thing this hurts is building the bullpen, which is a lot harder if you aren't converting a guy like festa.

Just watched the highlights. McCarthy is pretty fast. Washington was terrible. We'll see over the next few weeks if he's getting better, or that was Washington just being awful.

The Dodgers failed to build a bullpen last year, and you think the the TWins can build one basically from scratch? I find that very hard to believe.

I mean, almost no one has 160 hit players. Only 28 players did that last year..... I am not, however, in disagreement on the hitting development at all.

Ya, seems odd to me, because they aren't part of the salary cap, and you'd think the Mets would buy the best one for those 5-10 extra wins......imagine why they don't? I can't.....

5 wins is still more than 95% of players.....I think we all over estimate the delta between managers, or the best would be paid A LOT more than they are, IMO.
