  1. The could have Prielipp relieve for a couple months this year, and still be a starter to the start the year in the minors next year. I'd only do that if they are in the running......but it is not totally unusual to do. Lots of teams promote TOP prospects with less at bats than 600 in the minors. If he's healthy and the guy they all say he is, he should be up some time next year, well before September.
  2. Which is basically what I said in my second sentence. It's not just about him. On the other hand, they h have plenty of chaffe. Also, I've never understood why people want to watch bad veterans with no upside, rather than take a chance on rookies.
  3. He's way too old to worry about years of control. Now, they might not want to bump others.... But I can't imagine holding him back to worry about controlling him to age 33....
  4. Partly due to them splitting time, he doesn't even have 100 at bats as a catcher and that's a counting stat. But yes, he's not hitting great as a catcher this year. Still, more than twice as good as Vazquez.... Last year he was the 8th best hitting catcher. Sixth best in 2023. So anyone trading for him would be assuming he regresses to his career norms.
  5. He's the worst hitter in baseball. 301st of 303 with 100 at bats. No defense makes up for that.
  6. Either Sabato or Keaschell should be the first baseman at this point.... Once the latter is healthy.
  7. 303 hitters have at least 100 at bats. 2 are worse than Vazquez. No amount of defense makes up for that. He's not just worse, he's a lot worse.
  8. He's been bad, but he's still hitting just before average overall. Larnach is barely out hitting him. But I'd understand dealing wallner instead. But if Larnach is better, I deal him. I'm expecting Emma, Keaschell, and Jenkins all available next year in the OF at some point. But I'm not going to say your wrong.
  9. That's fair. I'm willing to bet on the more years of control for Wallner.
  10. I'd sign Bader to a two year deal. And trade Larnach in the off-season.
  11. 47 catchers have at least 100 at bats. Vazquez is the worst hitter of them all. And it's isn't close.
  12. 303 hitters have at least as many at bats as Vazquez. He's 301st in hitting! Just DFA him and try anyone else at this point.
  13. Does everyone else go to the bathroom or clean or something when Lewis and CC are up at this point?
  14. I guarantee if someone offers him one hundred million, he's leaving. Fifty, probably thirty, is enough. Maybe twenty.
  15. Martin and Keaschell come up for basically free. Martin can replace Bader. Paddock by a free player. That leaves catcher really to be signed. I guess first, but I'd put Keaschell there as soon as he's healthy this year I see no real additions this off session until the team is sold. Or they give up selling it. As I've said, morning changes until Lewis and CC hit or are gone.
  16. Where is Matthews in your list of players? He has to be a starter given that over pay for him. Julien at second, not Matthews or Keaschell? Overall, pretty good stuff, but that seems like a lot for Matthews.
  17. Selling every expiring contract. Correa if someone will take him if I throw in ten million a year. Not that I want to, but I think it needs to be done.
