  1. You just can't trade a guy you just signed.......unless he somehow comes out and asks for a trade publicly. It will just discourage other FAs from signing. I was wrong to rip the Twins for not trading Willingham right away. 100% wrong.
  2. Perhaps, but how much better is next year's team with Turner? How many years will they stink at SS while waiting?
  3. http://www.sportingnews.com/mlb/story/2015-04-12/pitch-count-innings-limits-pitcher-injuries-study-tommy-john
  4. Look up 1 post......and there are more on the internet than just that one. Or, one below this one.....
  5. Debunking the Verducci effect...... http://deadspin.com/5985013/time-to-retire-the-verducci-effect-what-really-predicts-pitcher-injuries
  6. So, something in the room no one would guess: totallyhotsupermodel456
  7. This......like Twinsdaily, come on, who cares if that site gets hacked. BTW, I love TR, he can do no wrong. Also, Brock is the smartest. Oh, and birdwatcher and MLR and I are going to hang out tonight......
  8. verducci effect is bunk. 100% no evidence it is true......Also, 130-140 is what a minor leaguer can do. Not sure what you are even saying. Plenty of other teams call up starters for a taste of the majors as a RP, then make them starters the next year. Even WS winners.....
  9. Meh, they aren't dealing Ervin Santana, and no one wants the other Santana. Not even sure why this is being discussed. It is more likely they trade for Tulo.......
  10. I liked the pick, still like the pick.......Gordon will play SS in the majors, and play it well. It just might take a bit too long for this team over the next 2 years.....
  11. totally fair. That still leaves Duffey. And Oliveras. And Achter. And Rogers.
  12. I don't understand the fear of using Duffey or Berrios in the 7th/8th. Just because they aren't "proven closers" doesn't mean they can't do the job. We are pretty sure the current guys can't (or aren't allowed for some reason) do the job, why not try something else?
  13. I don't really see this as a dilemma. I see it as some kind of odd, stubborn, refusal to use their assets to help the MLB team.
  14. Ironically, given his injury risk, I'd deal him if I could, for 3 guys I thought were MLB players.....Berrios, Polanco and someone? I'd do that if I was them. They are terrible right now....
  15. Age and injury are the only thing that make it possible to get him, imo. If he was 2 years younger and healthy? No chance....
  16. But I'd have Esco there.....so the negative WAR is zero nana nana, boo boo, I win! Sorry, on an awful work call, really needed to be silly for a second.....
  17. But they have May and Berrios......and then in AAA they have two number 4/5 types when someone needs time off next year.....
  18. If only the Twins agreed, and would not sign 40 year old OFers, keep Pelfrey in the lineup, sign Suzuki to an extension.........give some AAA pitchers a shot in the bullpen.....if only they agreed, Nick.
  19. Except they aren't playing with their own parts...... Polanco is in the minors. NONE of the AAA starters are being tried as RP (heck, neither are the RP) Arcia is down for a 40 year old to play May is doing nothing, while Pelfrey pitches (and the other BP pitch) They didn't play with their pieces last year, they aren't this year. It isn't their style.
  20. Used to listen to Aaron, but since he decided to ridicule me for participating on his site, after asking for more participation, and for suggesting they do a live podcast, which they did a few weeks later, well, I'd prefer not to give him my time.....
  21. This part isn't an argument that it is for 1 year? "And I don't think it's a prudent move to give up a significant portion of the farm to play a game that essentially gives a 50/50 chance of reaching a five game series." btw, I agree, it is risky.......but I have seen plenty of the Twins' prospects lately to think maybe, just maybe, they aren't all that great, and dealing a bunch of maybes for Tulo is a good idea. I see where others disagree.....
  22. Except I don't buy it is a 1 year deal, but you keep arguing it is. IMO, it helps A TON with next year and the year after also......
  23. That's all fair.......sure doesn't instill much confidence in next year either.....year what of the rebuild that isn't a rebuild?
