    I guess it is tough....if you only trade when you are sure you are winning a division, you are mostly never going to make trades to actually get better.....so at some point, you need to make a call. If they don't try to fix SS, C, RP, they should be sellers, imo. What they should not do, is sit still, imo.

    Those last two were not aimed at you, my bad communication there......but there a lot of posts on this site that are appeals to authority, that we shouldn't question the experts. You've seen them. They are really prevalent when the team is winning..... I thought you did say that about May, my bad. I don't get what they are doing with May at all, not even 1 bit.

    Mostly disagree....they have banked these wins. Casting them aside, on the hope that next year will be better......that's how you pretty much never win. Because next year you do the same thing....and then next year again. At some point, you try to win. If they are supposed to stand still this year, what's different next year that makes you think they'll be looking at this many wins at the ASB?

    If it isn't a trade....at least bench Santana. And, it is fair you don't have a full list, I don't either. I think you are underselling Tulo, but it is debatable for sure.

    didn't you say that about the ASB or so also? so, 6 more weeks of their 2nd best pitcher sitting on the sidelines and doing nothing? But, ya, they are w/o a flaw in leadership/FO/manager....

    Better or worse than Santana? The math is pretty clear on this.....

    WAR is a counting stat....accumulated by the time on the field. He's been so good, that even playing limited time, he's helped his team win as many games as Dozier does in 158 games a year or so.....So, his WAR takes into account the time missed.

    MLR, it's not as easy as adding up all the WAR of the guys they trade. Only 25 guys are on the roster at a time........it's not likely that all 3-5 players they gave up would even play on this roster. It would be cool if the Twins took the $20MM they aren't spending on Tulo and bought an elite SP...... Here is the list of all the times they've done that in their history:

    Santana is dead last among position players in WAR this year. Why is anyone comfortable with that?

    so, where do they get that Ace next year or the year after? Because he's not on the roster or in the system? They don't have one glaring hole, they have SS, C, 1B, and CF.....and 1 guy in the bullpen, and yet have still banked 9 wins. You expect this collection to bank 9 wins next year?
