  1. No one is claiming Landa and keeping him on their roster for the full year, are they? wouldn't they have to?
  2. Well, I have never watched SP....but 19 year old pretty much has that on whenever sports are not, apparently (he mentioned it last time we saw him from college). Can I be cool by proxy?
  3. What I would do: Locks to keep: Jose Berrios - JT Chargois Tyler Duffey – Phil Hughes – Trevor May Adalberto Mejia Mason Melotakis – Taylor Rogers Kyle Gibson (trade value is too low, new approach might work) Fernando Romero Trade bait, though it has to be a great offer: Ervin Santana – Probably keep: Michael Tonkin—put him in short relief, give him a shot for bleep sake No need to keep, won’t lose sleep if they are gone: Pat Light Buddy Boshers Ryan O’Rourke Randy Rosario Yorman Landa Alex Wimmers Felix Jorge – DJ Baxendale – Lewis Thorpe Jason Wheeler Zack Jones Ryan Eades Williams Ramirez No idea what to do: Glen Perkins – I can’t count on him at all to be healthy. He hasn’t been for three years. I offer some kind of buyout, and tell him to retire and be healthier in the long run.
  4. You put more credence in stuff by people here, than professional scouts?
  5. Jose Berrios, maybe.....that's pretty recent.
  6. Lots of HS kids pitch and play other positions. He just happens to be great at both. He's being considered for 1:1.....this isn't some random guy....
  7. I never said there was....you asked if I'd trade him for 2 guys in AA that were similar to what the Twins have..... I'd also trade him for a top 50 or pitcher and a catcher and another prospect.
  8. I would trade Dozier for 2 SPs in AA that are in the top 50-60 of prospects, yes. Not that you asked me....
  9. I imagine Google will kill it again, and I should probably be buying some.....
  10. Can we have one thread that isn't BS vs TR, please? Pretty please with ice cream on top?
  11. I guess my equivocating on NFLX turned out to be a bad idea! I have really been indecisive lately.
  12. Nice. the stock I own the most of is up massively today......nice that I get to buy it cheaper than market also....
  13. Well, I was responding to this, hence I was responding to the point I thought he was making that Granite shouldn't be up because he'd sit on the bench most of the time, which, assuming Rosario, Buxton, and Kepler are good, is true in 2 years or 3 years also....I don't know how to make that more clear, frankly. "letting Granite sit on the bench most days as a role player? .... and guys like Granite can play every day at AAA to at least start the year?" No place was I actually arguing he was ready.....I was arguing that it was not sufficient to say he shouldn't come up because he'd sit.
  14. KLAW said yesterday that any talk of Gordon moving off SS was ridiculous. Like his opinion or not, he's seen him play, and he's scouted thousands of players.
  15. i hope they do more than 1 thing to make the team better.....do you not think they can do more than 1 thing?
  16. Well, I've been all in on 1 year deals for pitchers for about 4 years now.....so I guess I should endorse signing at least 1.
  17. I agree Tonkin was used out of his natural role. Misunderstood.
  18. I think the aversion is to spending money on long term deals, when you are this far from competing, and when you have about 10 legit RP prospects in AA and AAA and maybe even A ball that could pitch here next year...
  19. No, MN has those rankings....
  20. How do you ever develop pitching, if you pass on it out of fear? Have you looked at success rates of SPs and position players, both?
  21. CBS has them 49th in the nation......is that really that bad? It isn't great....but is that bad? The FPI has them 54th....
  22. That wasn't what I was arguing....not even close. I was arguing that if your reason for not having him here is that he would sit and not play, that is probably the case the following year also. Heck, I even said that.....unless you trade Rosario, Granite is probably always a 4th OF. so, if your argument is don't call him up because he's a 4th OF, well, I don't think that argument can ever be overcome. Not sure your point.
  23. Couldn't disagree more. Rigid roles is a thing of the past, imo. Also, no reason some of those last few names can't start in MN, imo. What more can they do in the minors at this point?
