  1. Urshela only cost money and was already here....I wasn't sure they should, and they didn't. I assumed that meant Miranda at third. Now? I'm not sure. Because I have no interest in Miranda being the primary DH.
  2. If Miranda isn't at third, he's no DH......and Arraez is at first, I assume.
  3. 5.9 million is a lot of insurance.....(If I read that right).
  4. Not sure how I feel about this yet....he played 98 games at SS, are they not signing a SS? Seems pricey just to be a utility guy.
  5. Rebuild? The guy was signed for 1 more year, and they have Miranda, Lewis, and Lee available for third, maybe Arraez. What says rebuild about this at all? On what planet is there even a rumor of Polanco going?
  6. Same. I'd be thrilled with a highly random outcome player in return (put Wallner in RF at this point, or Larnach).
  7. I did wonder yesterday about keeping him, given Miranda and Lee and Lewis......getting a pitcher that won't be on the 40 man for awhile makes sense (IF THEY SPEND THE MONEY).
  8. That's partly related to the position they played. And the number of games. But I agree, urshela is a better player. The question is ... What can they do with the saved money, is the difference that big, can Lee be the third baseman next year at some point if they have a shortstop? I don't know the answer to any of that, especially what they plan to do in free agency.
  9. All four of those players for one of the Brewer's pitchers isn't enough.....
  10. No way I bring back Pagan. This is why he is, year after year. A tease. No way. No possible way. Not even if he paid the Twins to come back. The others? I keep them all, but I think for a few seconds about Urshela. If they think he can play SS (assuming they don't come to agreement with one of the big 4) for a few month, I keep him as the placeholder for Lewis / Lee 100%. Also, I'm not sure I love Miranda as much as others. Urshela put up 2.4 fWAR last year. I'd gladly take that again for what they'll pay him. And that's at 3B.....he's more valuable at SS (if he can play D at all). OTOH, I'd not be shocked if they dealt him or let him go. Lopez makes me nervous, but it isn't real money at all.
  11. They could sign both, bring in a cheap placeholder at short, and still have a lower payroll than last year.
  12. I would bring him back for a reasonable deal. I think if used correctly, he's still quite good.
  13. Just put Wallner in RF (and deal Kepler for a prospect). Find a right handed hitting OF for left/center if you really want another OF.....but they have a lot of options (not to mention Austin Martin) already in the system. They should be looking at DH / C / SP / SS.
  14. Not a fan, but I wouldn't hate it either....but I don't see any of them as difference makers (so how are they better than what they have?).
  15. There just aren't that many good catchers in the league......I'd spend resources elsewhere for sure. It is very unlikely they can be much better than any other team at catcher....but there are great players at other positions they can get/develop/sign....
  16. Lewis played center in the AFL. He wasn't hurt from playing center.
  17. At least double that for Swanson. At least.
  18. Lewis had been hurt for three years.... You willing to bet he's going to stay healthy and not be Buxton? Similarly, Rodon was hurt each of the two years before this.... That's some serious risk for a pitcher.
  19. This is one article.... They have spent the most ever the last few years.
  20. Agreed. Who else are they going to pay any time soon? In a year, will they have anyone even making ten million other than Buxton? Kepler will be gone. So the veteran pitchers, gone. Polanco doesn't make that.
