  1. 124 pitchers pitched 100 innings or more. Bundy was 109th in fwar, and Archer was worse. How is that anything other than terrible?
  2. I can read, I can also look at stats. They were terrible relative to the league. You only have to go to leaderboards and sort.
  3. Which objective truth are stat people ignoring for narrative?
  4. Based on Mahle being better then Bundy nearly every year lately? Or do you think he's hurt?
  5. Hopefully Maeda is great, and they don't need Ober soon.
  6. Several players have made rosters from AA this spring on other teams. The good argument you make is that polanco is likely back in ten days or so. If he's out a month, I'd like to see Julien get a shot. He had upside. But I like giving Gordon a shot, if he's not in the outfield.
  7. They were objectively terrible. Sort starting pitching rankings, then go to near the last page.... That's where you'll find them.
  8. Those two aren't competing for a spot, are they?
  9. How many bad starts, or short starts, would you give the two veterans? Not the team, you?
  10. And it's not like he was dominant before.... Maeda better be on a short leash.
  11. Of course it's a great idea.
  12. I'm thinking Farmer is the starting 3B until Miranda can throw. Or until Lee says "just put me in, coach".
  13. Are people still discussing if they should trade a decent RP for not much, because of value? Because I thought that was the point, which makes little sense to me. Odds of getting anything if value for him are very low, but he holds certain present value. As for the polanco example, it would be foolish to trade a great, cost controlled player while your team is good. That's literally the guy you are trying to trade for...
  14. Ham is back....so they have a blocking TE and a FB....going to run power I?
  15. They aren't pulling healthy good pitchers after 4 or 5 innings....They didn't last year, the year before, or the year before. I do agree, though, that with Maeda and Mahle, I'd like one bridge guy (Hoffman?) in the bullpen (not Ober, he's a legit starter). I'd prefer Ober start, and Maeda be in the pen (and just give him his starter bonus).
  16. If Alcala is back, this bullpen looks very good to me. They were top 10 after the horrible start, and added Lopez and Alcala...An ordinary Lopez as your 5th or 6th best RP is a nice bullpen.
  17. This. TB trades guys when they get expensive.....Polanco isn't expensive.
  18. I read it. We clearly disagree about what a number two pitcher is. I'm ok with that How many pitched 180 innings? 27, including Pablo Lopez. If you think there are only 27 aces and number two pitchers, your bar is higher than mine, that seems to be our disagreement. No biggie, we just don't agree.
  19. How many pitchers threw 200 innings last year? 8 is the answer, btw Eye test? How many non twins games do you watch, so you can compare pitchers?
  20. Either. It was more a pithy reply to a post that doesn't take any realistic definition of a number two pitcher
  21. Go to fangraphs and sort by starting pitchers. You'll be surprised how good this group is, apparently. If you judge then by win loss record, I doubt we can agree at all.
