  1. They had to give up a second next year?
  2. I still think they end up trading down....
  3. That's a fair stance, we don't agree. I'm not sure which player you want to see more of than him right now?
  4. Where does Julien play? Gordon can sit on the bench, no biggie. Sitting Julien more days than playing him is not a good idea. That said, that guy should have a 1B glove, if Polanco is healthy, that's Julien's opportunity with Buxton the DH.
  5. See, I don't think they kept Kepler due to sunk cost fallacy (one of my favorites, as it were). I think they kept him because Larnach wasn't healthy, AK wasn't, they weren't playing Buxton in the field, etc.....they wanted depth. They have that now, but it is much harder now to do anything. No one makes trades yet, and no team just cuts a veteran that puts up league average fWAR.
  6. He's been better than both..... Larnach has been hurt the last two years. I'm in no hurry to judge him at this point. Let's see where he is in July.
  7. Kepler hasn't hit since 2019... He should go but won't. I have no great need to keep Gordon, and I've been one of his biggest supporters. Farmer and likely Lewis do what he does, better. I'd prefer AK at first, Gallo in right or left, and Larnach in the other corner. I'd be looking to deal Kepler and one of Maeda or Mahle to someone like the Mets..... At some point you need to take the chance on Ober and Varland and AK and Larnach. We know what Kepler is....
  8. I'd call up AK and deal Kepler for anything. Yup, risky. But I'm taking that risk. They'll wait on AK until someone is hurt.
  9. When they traded for Mahle, I wanted him to pitch two innings in relief every few days. I think Ober should be a starter, and Mahle or Maeda RP ..... But don't expect that. If someone wants to give up a great prospect for either, I'm in.
  10. I think the are fans, but I'm not sure that's enough.
  11. Stats.... And truth
  12. I live in Portland, you can walk anywhere alone. The likely stadium site is in an area that has seen some good development, and a stadium would really accelerate that. That said, I don't think there are enough big companies here to fill all the suites. Outside Intel and the shoe companies, it's a lot of small companies. Also, this government isn't going to give a billion dollars to billionaires to fund a stadium. So, no way a team comes here, imo.
  13. They literally had a top 5 bullpen before today......according to stats comparing them with other teams. They have 2 weak links, maybe three if Alcala isn't good (but it's not like they weren't going to give him a shot). They have Headrick, Winder, Balazovich in MN or St. Paul.
  14. He has Purdy... Is he really giving up on him, or adding assets? That said, I have no idea if I want him.
  15. That's a long list of the previous FO picks.......
  16. go get another catcher and give Jeffers a 1B glove......:) just to add to the crunch. Julien for Gallo Castro for Polanco Kepler (or Larnach) (I wish) for Kiriloff (assuming AK is hitting, and Kepler is what he has been for nearly 1000 ABs now) Garlick for Farmer Lewis for Gordon or Miranda (if Miranda isn't hitting, him for sure) Winder for whomever at the backend of the pen
  17. I mean, is there a hitter we like on the roster right now, other than the catchers? Clearly, most guys are safe, but this team needs a spark. I'm done with Kepler, but the Twins aren't. I don't see a big need for Castro at all at this point. Julien isn't ready, and will be down when they activate Polanco for sure. That's two easy decisions, and one hard one. Next in line is Solano or Gordon.....or both.
  18. I get most disagree with me! I got nothing to go on here but a feeling.
  19. I agree with your point....I'd move Lewis to CF without even hesitating. Lee is your All Star 3B going forward. Buxton clearly isn't a long term OF anymore. "fine" means not all that good, adequate, mediocre, not gonna win you things, but not gonna lose you things. This pitching staff is good enough to win in the playoffs, this offense isn't. It's "fine" enough, but not all that good.
