  1. Some of those guys are clearly MLB players, I'd hope they slash well in AAA.
  2. Agreed. Gallo brought in, and Kepler kept for depth (mistake on mistake). It is an emotional reaction to last year having to play all the guys from AA basically last year. To me, that's the best example.
  3. Meh. It was an emotional speech after a game. I think parsing the words doesn't tell us much, other than he wants change.
  4. He's ranked in the top 7-10....picking him at 5 is reasonable, given our ability to predict the future. They didn't do well going underslot for Lewis (Rooker and Enlow).
  5. How many wins did they have last year with him on the team? Also, it's over. What should they do now?
  6. Were the Dior comments before the first signing (as I 'm pretty sure we are talking about last year before the Dior comments)?
  7. 100% there were some that did not want him here for various reasons. I'll change "everyone" to "nearly everyone on this board." And I stand by that. People here say they are great leaders and having fun when they are winning, and that there are no leaders and they just aren't having fun when they are losing. I'd argue that the mood is an outcome, more than an input....but I could be wrong.
  8. Truth! Great trade chip, along with Gray. I'm interested in the SS from Arizona (who could be a SS or CF) who is one of their top prospects....
  9. Go back and look at what people said early last year about CC and Buxton, but sure, a few didn't....whatever.
  10. Weird how everyone praised their leadership and energy the first half of last year.....I think this is mostly not real. But, something is wrong for sure.
  11. AK is struggling too....so, um, that leaves Julien, Jeffers, and Lewis. That's it. Also, interestingly, three guys they developed, maybe they should use more of those types.
  12. I won't be shocked if Baldelli and the hitting coach take the fall, but his is 90% on the FO. Taylor, Solano, Castro, Gallo are known backups. Kepler is also (or worse). They appear to be 100% wrong on Vazquez, and somehow CC has forgotten how to hit. That's, like, nearly every player that plays every day. Then there is Buxton not being a shell of himself. I'm not sure how Baldelli is supposed to fill out a lineup card, given ALL THREE OF on the roster are backups at best, the SS can't hit, the C they signed can't hit, and their DH is not good......
  13. You think no one sees that? CC and AK are very disappointing. No idea what to do there....but I'd suggest a change in hitting coaches and philosophy and see if that works miraculously. They 100% should DFA Gallo and Kepler at this point. They are what they are, and this team, as built, can't win playoffs. Start the "youth" movement now.
  14. And the FO does nothing..... Inexcusable that Vazquez was playing, let alone hitting with a runner on late in a game.
  15. Lee's been good, just not dominant like many of us hoped. Would be nice to have one insanely fast riser, great player rise up under this FO.
  16. Alcala, Stewart, Thielbar all hurt. Sands ineffective. Henriquez just back. De Leon hurt. That's 4 decent to good RPs hurt, and two that likely aren't that good, though Henriquez at least intrigues me. Look, we can look at all the anecdotes we want, but Gleeman has posted very compelling stats. Pagan has been the worst RP in baseball for four years when it comes to adding value in indiividual games and relative ERA. There is no reason to have him on the roster. He's PROVEN to be bad for four years now. I don't care which minor leaguer they call up to replace him. That person has not proven to be the worst in baseball. WInder and Balazovich should be in MN, either thriving or failing. This team is NOT a good team, so find out what those two have. Put them in positions of stress, and see what happens.
  17. Where would you put him in AAA, given larnach, Wallner, Celestino, Stevenson, and Contreras are there? I mean, at the beginning of the year, when that's how the pecking order was, would you have put him in AAA?
  18. Whe even come in the thread, then, if you aren't interested? Dude was hurt for two years, and the pandemic years didn't help.....he's healthy and playing very well. Good for him. I guess one can choose not to be happy for him.....
  19. Great stuff, thanks, I prefer the Saints OF to the Twins at this point......and hope against hope they move 2 or 3 up, and likewise promote guys from lower levels in kind....
