  1. Even with the first pick, this is a very good looking draft. Varland looks like a number 3/4, and I'm confident in Wallner and Julien contributing. Then there are the relief pitchers.....
  2. I'd be shocked if those aren't the top 3. Pending health, of course. This is based on my extensive personal scouting, of course.....
  3. Of those, I have no interest in the Gonzalez. I'd take Skenes over all but two of them....
  4. If Skenes drops to five, I have no idea what teams are doing.....and if he drops to 6, I'll be very disappointed. He could probably be in the bullpen this year in MN.....and then AA to start 2024 as a starter.
  5. I'd love for Maeda to be in teh bullpen......and just give him his #$^#@ money.
  6. That was ball four. How is that on the team?
  7. Performance compared to what? The past years of pitchers, how other pitchers pitch? An A isn't "the best you can do". You can always do more of an A....but if A means the best (like 5 Cy Young winners, I guess), then I see how they don't get an A. Thanks for the polite conversation, even if we disagree.
  8. If you aren't comparing them to all of baseball, how are you coming up with the grades?
  9. Given their past, there is almost a zero percent chance they don't take him if he's there.
  10. B+? They are the first or second best starting staff in the game right now. WT* would they need to do to get an A? D for relief pitchers? Have you compared the bullpen to the rest of baseball?
  11. Ok. Fair. Middle of the standings.... And a D or worse?
  12. How many games did the people giving them less than a C predict they'd win at the beginning of the year? They are meeting expectations and are in the middle of the standings
  13. C Underachievers on offense, over on defense. I'm not sure which will regress to the mean....
  14. Given what this board predicted at the beginning of the year, they are right on pace....with CC being BAD, Polanco not playing much, and Buxton at DH and not CF at all. The amount of virtual angst written about a team that is meeting expectations astounds me.
  15. And? He's #7 now, and the #2 pitcher. He hasn't TUMBLED....I really don't get your point here.
  16. He's number 7 on the consensus board! How far has he slipped? He's the 2nd rated pitcher.....
  17. He was consensus top five not long ago...I hope they aren't picking based on the consensus board!
  18. I wanted Turner so much in that draft....oh well..... I have no idea what's up with Dollander, obviously, but he was projected 1:1, and now is around 1:7....it's not like he's REALLY fallen, just fallen, if you know what I mean. I also get these two HS players stand out.....I'd be good with any of the top 5-10 at this point, I think.
  19. Skenes, Clark, Dollander for me, but I always want an elite arm at the top, and am not usually right......but I haven't exactly loved their HS SS picks lately.......so I'm scared of the two HS guys.
  20. 7th on the consensus big board seems pretty close to top 5 to me.........I have no idea where you think he's going, but he's going in the top 10 unless he gets hurt, likely top 7-8.
  21. I'm really curious why Cossetti hasn't been promoted......I mean, I have zero data, other than the stats, but still....
  22. This team really needs a spark on offense. And other than Lewis, I don't know where it comes from. Every player looks like the player they are (other than CC).
