  1. Baldelli doesn't sign players, or put them on the roster. This is on the FO. 100%.
  2. I think you make a good point....40% of their games they've scored 2 or less runs ( I read that, hoping it's true). Sure, each individual could be worse, but scoring 2 or less runs won't win you any games, so those games can't really be worse as a team. Rip the damn bandaid off....
  3. https://www.fangraphs.com/roster-resource/depth-charts/twins 5 games so far.....but, was he ever a real prospect? Put f;n Severino there for peete's sake. (yes, I spelled pete wrong)
  4. Go read his draft profile......he's been hurt the whole time he's been in MN. He wasn't taken that early in the draft and put in the upper minors for no reason.
  5. They literally have zero OFers on the roster this year that are signed for next year (unless one thinks Buxton will play there next year). And yet, they refuse to move on from proven bad players and at least see if the youth is better or not. No idea how they'll know what to do next year, given that lack of information (or, they've already decided Larnach and Wallner aren't the answer, in which case they should be dealt).
  6. They literally have a new guy in charge.....so, yes, this would be urgency.
  7. I'm not sure why you are mentioning every day assets that are MLB players. As for prospects? They'd get at least one top 100 and two more decent to good ones. That's likely better than the pick they'd get when he turns down the QO.
  8. I like this draft, knowing NOTHING about the guys after day 1 other than their positions and age.
  9. It's mind boggling Severino isn't in AAA or MN at this point. How he wasn't promoted when Miranda was is truly not ideal, IMO.
  10. I'm told by a certain owner of this site that they aren't slow to promote....and yet, here we are, with no youth in AAA at all....and college guys all over AA and A+
  11. I mean, not sure how fangraphs can both trash them and rank them 13th.... In any event, I like the upside play of HS players.
  12. I mean Lee is still in the top 20-30 prospects overall by most sites....Cosssetti looks great as does Schoebel. Prellip was all about the risk, i was all for taking the chance and won't rip them if it doesn't work. The others all look like decent picks.
  13. While there is no assurance the youth will be better, it is hard to get worse than 26th. Just take the chance. The one I agree on is 2B. Everyone clambering for Polanco to fix the team seems to be forgetting Julien hits about as well as him, so the O isn't getting fixed buy sending him down. 3B? Promote Severino and see what happens for a month until Lewis is back, or, and this is what I'd 100% do if I was the FO given their reticence at promoting anyone this year w/o an injury reason, put Polanco at third. C? Give Jeffers 2/3 of the starts. That would help. The is no massive backlog of CF, so I have no idea what your point is there....Maybe Martin's arm is healed, he excels for a month in AAA, and he comes up, but the odds of that are about the same as the Twins winning the WS this year....and Celestino isn't ready (if ever). Stevenson isn't likely to be even close to Taylor....
  14. Well, one top 100 for sure, not sure if the pitcher will be top 100 or just barely outside it. If you have a 50 future grade, you are in the top 120 or so on their site....
  15. I'm ready to say F it and put Severino in MN at third.......but that's not happening.... I'm just hoping Martin and Lee really surge in the 2nd half. I don't know what Wallner or Larnach could do to convince the FO they give them a shot at being better, and for their sake, I hope they are dealt to an organization that will give them a shot (though I'd prefer that be in MN).
  16. Gary would be the top trade target this deadline. He would bring them back quite a bit. That said, I don't expect this FO to sell, other than MAYBE an corner OF, but I doubt that very much.
  17. From Fangraphs: Minnesota took the final player of the consensus top five available in Jenkins. The rest of their draft was mildly surprising. Soto throws hard, but I didn’t expect his sink-oriented heater to appeal to a more progressive team’s sensibilities. Keaschall checks a lot of data-related boxes and definitely has plus athleticism to the eye, but I’m not sure his feel to hit was actually tested by the Pac-12.
  18. We might not love the development and minors, but FG has their system 13th overall, before netting two top 100 guys this year.
  19. I'm not sure any team does that? Like I said, not sure. You need 5 OF too.... That said, sure, I'd take more chances on arms early, but this wasn't the year for that, given how round 1 went.
  20. Kiriloff was the previous front office. I'm not sure what people expect. No one from the last two drafts is in the majors in any team, meaning we should look at what they've done in four years. It's not great, but it's also not bad.
