  1. I don't understand their unwillingness to move on from the two corner OFs at this point.
  2. It's not their job to only trade bad players. No one would ever trade with them again. The post said they should keep all the prospects until they were certain which were the good ones ... That's impossible, not even Tampa does that.
  3. No idea what that has to do with what I quoted. I've called for their heads, so I'm certainly not here to defend them.
  4. And then trade the bad ones? It doesn't work that way.
  5. Yup. I've pointed that out before. I agree, they are shorting themselves pool money, all to save a few hundred K in a league where teams flush millions every year.
  6. Good god. Miranda was a top prospect. At some point you have to trust them. This is a ridiculous article.
  7. Can't seem to clear this, so I'll just add that I vacuumed and didn't find anything going on, which I'm this case is likely good, unlike the FO fiddling while the season burns
  8. Ya. It's very consistently bad. But the FO is doing nothing about it, so we got that going for us.
  9. This just shows how deep this draft is...... And I'm less high on Lee than I have been. Fifth in his league among SS in hitting. I'm not seeing progress. I think any of the top 5 are higher than him. By top five I mean ranked in this draft, not your five projected picks. I agree with your overall ranking
  10. It only works if a great talent falls ...I think in the deepest draft in memory, you take the best players. We'll see soon....
  11. OPS under .700 again.....a couple hot games do not offset 3+ bad years of data.
  12. Right, Polanco does not fix the offense, because he and Julien are nearly the same on offense. We were talking about offense...not sure how to make that more clear. If you want to fix the offense, then subbing Polanco for Julien does not do that. They need to fix 3B and all three OF spots (well, those are the spots most fixable anyway, no one expects to fix all three). No place did anyone anoint Julien a STAR. No place did anyone say he was an overall better player than Polanco.
  13. You want the manager to hit for these guys? This is how it has been all year.....this is about the hitters.
  14. Lee is fifth in his league among SS in OPS....among SS. He shows no sign of being ready next year. And I thought he might be ready this year, and I'm a believer....but nothing in his hitting screams "I'm ready coach, put me in" any time soon.
  15. There can't be many of those on the likely sellers.....or those teams would be better.
  16. I think this projection is all about smoke, and not what he'd do.....I don't think anyone but Seth (on this board) has defended this idea.
  17. I could have sworn we were talking about offense. It's pretty clear that when I said he's replacing him, that I consider him a second baseman only on this team. Also, can we stop insulting people with phrases like shiny new toy, implying we are stupid? Sigh.
