  1. AK in right, and Kepler sitting. We are so close now.....
  2. Did they? Who did that? Then there are the posters that are sure he could play, even though the people with that data aren't playing him....
  3. That's a fair question. I mean, anyone can play the OF if they can run, but that's not the same as playing the outfield effectively. And, yes, it is about risk some for sure. Perhaps you are right, and he could effectively play the OF..... What risk level would you tolerate on him? Both health and effectiveness......
  4. Diggs is whining? About Allen? Wow. Not really surprised.
  5. Some people here seem to think he could be out there....
  6. If Buxton could play the field, he would be. The idea that the front office and manager would not play an elite fielder out there if they could is absurd. Especially when you have Julien as an option at DH. I'm not sure how this needs to be said, or is controversial, but apparently a lot of people here think that he could be in the field, but isn't for some reason.
  7. To be clear, if he is a permanent DH, that will not be ideal. It will definitely hurt this team, as there are likely better options that can't play the field.
  8. I never could figure out how they could pay that much top talent. I hope they survive.
  9. That pitcher was not good, and not young. If anyone thought he'd be this good, the Twins wouldn't have originally gotten him for virtually nothing.
  10. mike: The Twins seem to have painted themselves into a corner here, and just need to hope Buxton and CC and Polanco hit…..Kepler hasn’t hit for three years, would you move on? 2:11 Avatar Jay Jaffe: They’re committed to Buxton and Correa long-term, and when you do that, you have to be prepared for the occasional lag in production but hope they eventually approximate something closer to their projected capability. As for Kepler, he’s been a fixture in the lineup since 2016 and still has just two seasons of above-average production to show for it, and those came in 2019-20. It’s past time to move on, and worth seeing what Matt Wallner can do even if he does have some holes in his game.
  11. That's not true. You judge a decision based on what you know at the time. For example, getting home while driving drunk is not a good decision just because you didn't kill someone this time. The decision to sign Buxton can be the right decision, and it can still not work. It's the right decision to exercise.... And you can still blow out a knee, for example.
  12. It really is amazing that anyone thinks he's healthy enough to play, but the FO just doesn't want him out there.....seriously amazing.
  13. Guessing here, but they trade a few minor prospects for some RP. It's hard to see what more they could/would trade, assuming they continue to hover around .500 and with the players in the majors and AAA / AA. Me? Well, I'd do a lot of things right now, but it's not up to me, and you asked what I think they will do.....
  14. Here's the thing....meltdowns that produce a 50% increase in your team losing are MUCH MORE costly than 5 appearances where you increase the odds of your team winning by 10%. Every game player appearances move the needle 5-10% up and down.....and your teammates can do the same. It takes an accumulation of such events to win or lose a game. But changing the likelihood of winning by 50%? That's hard to over come, positively or negatively. That's the issue here. Any mediocre RP can come in and move the needle up and down by 10% every game. Only a handful can do this, year after year, and still have a job.
  15. Still have no idea why Julien never played 1B in the minors. He's not a good fielder if he has to move....we've seen that. And, AK can play RF, maybe even LF. Oh well, I've given up hope they move on from Kepler, and believe this is ANOTHER wasted year due to the FO not building a complete team.
  16. That whole post is bonkers. Put Lee in LF? Seriuosly?
  17. If he can move to a corner, then sure, it is worth a shot. But if not, he's basically Julien....and as we're seeing, it is hard to find space for a guy like that. Hard, not impossible.....
  18. I did not anywhere make that claim. Not once ,anywhere. I suggested we discuss the topic of the thread, should Pagan be on the roster. Nothing more or less. I did suggest, as Gleeman has pointed out over and over, that Pagan has been terrible for multiple years, and that Jax was good last year.
  19. Jax was good last year. Pagan is not. It's possible to discuss one player. Should pagan be on this roster? Not other players, pagan? I vote no.
  20. He's been terrible for several years. He should not be on this roster. It's one reason I'd fire the FO at this point.
  21. We're going to second guess a move everyone praised? Also, I audibly gasped at a performance of the ninth. It's the most powerful live performance I've ever seen.
  22. The realistic ceiling? One playoff series win. The pitching is great...... I'm with y'all here. Kepler and pagan need to go. I've lost confidence in this from office though, so I'm not holding my breath.
