  1. Because those guys shouldn't be either. And as long as he is, he's blocking hope. Also, can we stop suggesting that infielders, catchers, and OF are interchangeable?
  2. Except those guys play infield and catcher. And everyone wants Wallner to DH..... So larnach is in the OF, or Wallner is, or both.
  3. I mean, I didn't think they can compete this year, so this deal is fine. It blocks no one with a bad between t.
  4. What would you give up for a guy who is below average and costs five million a year? Who you can only control for two years?
  5. More like basement. He's never been good. Why would you think it will work this time? Where's the hope?
  6. Why even take that chance? He's not worth much if anything. They couldn't deal him at the deadline....Who would give up value for a guy that has only been worth more than 1 war in 1 of 4 years and who costs more than five million?
  7. This. We now know zero of the rookies will be up starting day w/o trades....because Roden and likely Outman are up, plus Buxton, Larnach (wtf), Wallner and Martin. I just do not understand this at all. He's not good. He's not free/cheap. He better part of a trade. Or, maybe they are just punting next year completely and won't even call up youth at all other than pitchers?
  8. WTAF are they doing with Larnach? Sigh. This team. Sigh. his BEST year he was below league median....and last year? Brutal. I just do NOT understand their lack of willingness to move on. Just awful for a team that is restricting its budget and filled with OF prospects. Just awful.
  9. Vazquez was one of the worst hitters in all of baseball last year. This team is not worse off, and is likely better.
  10. Right? He either works, or doesn't. But you spent no money and Eeles to find out. Pretty low risk opportunity. I like this deal as a decent short term risk until their minor league catchers are ready.
  11. Projection systems like him to hit fairly well next year.... I'm good with this trade..
  12. That's a good question. It really is amazing..
  13. He's no 4th OF.....not even close. But no way they deal for him. He's expensive (ish) and has 2 years of control left, IIRC.
  14. His highest RBI total in his career is 69.......He averages 53 RBI a year....I think you should re-think your math.
  15. I'd want someone with at least 3-4 years of control......but I think trading one of them is fine even for this coming year.....but both? That's the white flag.
  16. The issue is having him on the roster in the first place.
  17. So his mechanics need a complete redo? We're more than this year from knowing I guess.... Or is another excuse raising the question why or if he was taught wrong?
  18. Interesting names for sure. Not sure I'd do lowe....
