    KLAW says no one reads the intro: Intro: This is a thread about being a seller, not what I would do...... Jeffers is traded for one of these deals. I prefer the SEA deal. Seattle: Jeffers and something for Hancock. SEA has the best pitching prospect in baseball twiddling his thumbs in the minors. I think it takes Emrod and a middling prospect, or Hill or Soto and a middling prospect. I do any of those combos if I'm selling. NYY: Jeffers and HIll or Soto for Elmer Rodriguez (SP) and a mid level prospect. If they won't do that, Jeffers for Hess (SP) and a low level prospect. TB: Jeffers for Forret (SP). Ryan (to be clear, this is a I'm forced to sell thread): Ryan to Atl: Hartman (CF) and Mckenzie (P) and Owen Murphy (P). Ryan to Yankees: Rodriguez (SP) and Hess (P) and a mid-level prospect. I'd prefer Lombard JR, but he won't be traded. Ryan to Brewers: Hardin (SP) and Qureo (C). and a guy in the 7-12 range on their list. Caratini or Jackson for a AA pitcher the profiles as a RP, as Quero is replacing Jeffers on the roster (If I do the Brewers deal, if I don't, they both stay). Bell for anything I can get. Wallner for a flyer A ball pitcher (likely HOU). Larnach? I keep him unless you tell me I have to sell him....if I do, he goes to HOU or another team for a AA pitcher that is a 45 or 45+.

    Boston isn't close. I doubt Philly deals painter, but good have to consider it if they do. I think the Mets are the ideal partner. Likely you'll get tong, sproah, and a hitter. You aren't getting three top 100 prospects. Ya, zero chance you get three top 100 guys. Tolle is as good as Ryan this year, and has more control. Why would anyone do that? Painter? Zero interest at this point. He's broken.

    KLAW says no one reads the intro: Intro: this is not what I'd do. This is what I'd do if I was the GM and the owners told me I had to buy. Sign them both. I sign both Ryan and Jeffers. Price be damned. Ryan: 6/180. Jeffers: 5/65. I think Joe might still say no. I think Jeffers takes that, unless the relationship is totally broken. I offer both bonuses and lower salaries in '27, in case there is a lockout, to encourage them. Trades: I feel great about SP and C in 27 and 28 now, as well as OF, so I'm dealing from those positions. I'm targeting hitting and more hitting, along with a RP. Royce Lewis for Arraez. He's my new 2b, with Clemens moving to first. If that doesn't work, a minor league OF not named Jenkins, possibly a middling pitching prospect. I consider signing Luis to an extension, but I hold off and think about it. Call up Culpepper and start his clock. Make Kriedler the backup SS, 2B, 1B, CF, 3B. He's a great utility option, and there are enough ABs in that role given the rest others need. Trade a mid tier bat from the minors to Cincy for Tejay Antone for the bullpen. He should be cheap to acquire. Damn, I do sign Arraez to a 5 year 100 million dollar deal. Trade Houston or Culpepper and Quick to LAA. I get One of their two closers, and Detmers and a minor league prospect in their 3-8 range. I move the guy I like least as a starter between Detmers, Matthews, and Preilip to RP. Probably the lefty. I now have two or three very good bullpen pieces, a big upgrade between 2nd and first, and a veteran starter in Detmers. Oh, and Ryan, Jeffers, and Arraez locked up for the long term. Cost: LOTS of money, but I'm betting on a floor, Lewis, Quick, Culpepper or Houston, and a couple middling prospects.

    I will be very disappointed if they deal Jeffers for immediate help over a very good to great prospect. No way they should be aiming for RP for Jeffers. If so, keep him.

    True, but teams are now either in position to make the playoffs, on the bubble, or out. Now a team that is in or near might want a C they didn't want before the year started. I think some of them would.
