  1. Poker Face cancelled. Probably too anti capitalism for the channel.... I've never seen it, but heard great things.
  2. Except Wallner isn't bad over his career. Those saying so just haven't adjusted to the modern game.
  3. Anyone that believes these numbers should be leary.... As MLB is claiming the Yankees are losing money.
  4. I mean, the Dodgers couldn't build one last year. I can't imagine any team has built a bullpen starting with 1-2 guys.....but I could be wrong. But I doubt it.
  5. You think they'll lose 70 million in revenue if they cut payroll, which is what your math is saying? Nah......they'll make a lot of money with a tiny payroll.
  6. I didn't read much good about season 2.....we may or may not watch it someday. Related: We listened to the audio book of the first 6 or so comics, and I'll never get the diner scene out of my brain.....
  7. I said I'd also take the gamble....especially for Ober. But I wasn't clear that I'd also try him at SS if they want, so my bad. I mean, I do Ober for Lawler all day and figure out what to do with him once he's here.
  8. Absolutely! But I don't watch these guys, so I have to trust someone else. I mean, or we can just assume everyone is good or bad? Like, I don't know what to say to this post. To be clear, I like a lot of the ideas here, I was just pointing out that at least one talent advisor said his D is bad.
  9. Ryan: What do you make of Jordan Lawlar playing centerfield in winter ball? Was his infield defense really looking THAT bad? 12:49 Eric A Longenhagen: It’s a great experiment, though I haven’t pulled the tape on him out there yet, and probably won’t until he’s had some more reps. Yes, it was that bad.
  10. I think we've found the source of our disagreement! Hiring the right head coach, and drafting better than your opponents are, imo, the two most important things for long term success. You feel differently (unless that last sentence doesn't mean what I think). Also, I don't know why we can't acknowledge the drafts have sucked? The team has been very successful, but I have doubts about the long term viability of that w/o better drafts. You seem to disagree. I and others have acknowledged that until this year, they've done a great job in FA. But man, they were wrong on the two DTs, the center had multiple concussions coming in, and they let two good DBs walk....Mason, as many have said here, was a steal. But, imo, you can't build a team w/o good drafts. You seem to disagree with that.
  11. I mean, just just week fangraphs wrote that lawlars defense was terrible....
  12. Given the that few weeks, I have committed to never betting on sports.....
  13. Lawlars defense makes Lee look like the best SS ever ... They are moving him to the OF. However, I'd do that trade and put him at first or OF or flip him to another team.
  14. The headline is awful. There is no moral issue here, and you should be embarrassed for publishing that title. As for the actual issue, he should be pissed, and he should want to leave this ownership. And, realistically, sadly, against what I want, they should likely deal him. He's the one veteran I'd consider keeping, though...
  15. Then he should have been better at it, because the signings this year mostly suck and the drafts....
  16. As this FO refused to trade Kepler. I really don't want bad veterans signed to multi year deals. I really don't know what earns a promotion means? How good, how long, does a player need to be? My comments are firmly rooted in 2027 and beyond, yes, 100 percent.
  17. I was responding to not playing him at all next year.... Great teams play this kind of guy less than a half year into next year all the time. Losing teams sign bad veterans and block this kind of player. No one is betting their season on this team. It has one relief pitcher, no first baseman, one catcher, an unknown at second and third. There is no realistic path to winning next year given their budget and lack of players. Your point about Buxton is mine.... It takes time to adjust, adjust while the team is bad.
  18. Everyone loves this character, but you'd hate him in real life, so I find him harder to like than most.
  19. So, never try a rookie? That's no way to build a team, any team, but especially one that needs to spend less. Really, if you expect them to be bad next year, play the rookies so they aren't rookies in 27 and beyond....
  20. This is a really fascinating idea! Like you say, a dream to be sure.....but there is a bit of logic here that makes sense.
  21. The general idea makes sense, but there is 0 chance Prielipp is a RP to start the year. Likely not Morris either, imo.
  22. Finished season two of Slow Horses. You should be watching this!
  23. 100 percent Lewis is not traded this year, agreed. But they are at least two years from being a good team.... And I don't see Lewis in Minnesota in three years.
