  1. Wallner was well above average. If he had 140 games, he'd have been second in fwar among all left fielders.
  2. I could be wrong about the floor. But overall, yes, they wanted to spend less. That's always their goal. You don't to be a billionaire by being generous with your inheritance.
  3. The owners wanted no floor, and to spend less than they are now.... Everyone should reject that.
  4. I don't understand being mad at teams paying players and trying to win, rather than the teams not spending money and not trying to win. Mind. Boggling.
  5. People realize they had their largest payroll ever, right? That Terry Ryan is gone?
  6. Strong disagree. Baseball was never more popular than when the Yankees did this. It's good for baseball to have a big market team casual fans hate irrationally. At least the dodgers are spending money, unlike like seven teams that aren't trying and are just pocketing millions.
  7. My first thought was no....but I could get behind this idea (I don't care about the reunion part at all, I just like a legit hitter that can C/1B/DH).
  8. If Soto is successful, it will be a rarity. HS pitchers are the worst gamble in the MLB draft. That's why he went as late as he did (it was a good gamble that late in the draft, imo).
  9. Outside Atlanta trading and cutting guys.....not much has happened on the trade front. I just don't get why anyone expected anything different than this, and why anyone cares yet. Has anyone the Twins could realistically get been traded or signed, that you'd want?
  10. Agreed. Not sure everyone else does
  11. I understand that decision.....they aren't out of it, and he played pretty well.
  12. 100% fair....I have no idea who they are targeting, or how much they want to cut payroll, or, really, anything. We'll know in about 3-4 weeks, I'd guess.
  13. You don't live in North Carolina because you like cold, wet, weather......
  14. I mean, that's more than I thought they could get for Polanco.....a former top pitching prospect who has some really good stuff? And he's only a former prospect due to not being a prospect anymore? He's your top AAA pitcher, most likely, to start the year. If the Twins think they can unlock something, you do this trade every day.
  15. which player you realistically wanted is off the board? MAYBE Wacha, maybe.
  16. That's what I think....but a lot of people don't like Nix or Penix as starters.....and I'm no expert.
  17. He's my least favorite of the top 6, so of course they will....
  18. Daniels is going in the top five. I'd trade up for him, but it don't be cheap
  19. If you don't think Nix or penix is a legit starter, they aren't getting one in the draft. The top three will go way before they pick. Way before.
  20. Why is Prescott out there? Insane.
  21. If the Patriots keep Bellichek (so?), they are insane.
  22. Imagine if his brain worked on the two interceptions
