  1. I mean, if that's what you can get for Kepler....unless you are using the money to sign a legit star, you keep him.....
  2. I bet a lot of teams wished they'd offered that to Ohtani..... He's a 25 yo likely ACE. That's worth an insane amount of money. They have all the data on his pitches they need to know if he's likely to be good or not....
  3. Someone explain the obsession with acquiring RH hitters? Lewis, CC, and Jeffers all hit RH. Polanco is a switch hitter. Or is this just about the player, which, why are the Rays trading him? Why are the Twins giving up assets for a guy that plays the position Lewis plays (or Julien at first, or AK or Miranda)? Get an OF or a C or a SP. I don't know why a team with budget constraints gives up assets for a guy that plays a position they have covered, most likely has covered.
  4. Dang, I would have guessed Knee blown out and ankle injury. Hopefully he's back for the playoffs (i Just like healthy teams and humans).
  5. That looked very bad. Yikes.
  6. Cleveland isn't dealing for a veteran like Polanco or Kepler.
  7. Low bar. Now if they only had a coach that understood offense....
  8. I actually am beginning to think they and Detroit are the three best teams in teh NFL.....and the Cowboys are also good, and GB is trending right. At the same time KC and Buffalo and Cincy are not....
  9. I agree with those that say they are freeing up money to sign a legit SP and then deal a current pitcher for better players than they gave up.
  10. Looking like they are going with Dobbs, and I am not amused. It's Zimmer all over again. Seriously, between this and getting all conservative at the end of games, I am wondering who the coach even is at this point.
  11. He didn't have 3+ years of control left......but he did have 2, so close. Seattle just cleared another 20 million from its budget, so that could be a good sign.
  12. Agreed, I'd rather watch them lose to someone else, assuming they lose.....
  13. No one said we can't be skeptical..... But why every thread about him, including one with what could be good news? Do what makes you happy. If bring skeptical in this thread does that, fine by me. I'm going to hope, because why not? I'm just a fan, I don't need to decide if they need a backup.
  14. Reports are it won't be Hall......blech
  15. Nabobs of negativity thread....
  16. Just saw a mock where six QBs go before the Vikings even pick. Of course, I think they'll move up about four picks....
  17. Wallner put up 1.5 fwar in less than sixty games in left. Lewis, of course. Julien. Jeffers..... All young guys, all above average or elite
  18. I'd value Lee and Julien about the same, even though Julien has succeeded at a higher level.....if I were to trade either of them.
  19. by ugly you mean tenth in all of baseball after the July 1 this last year in runs scored? That's when they committed to the younger players that they clearly haven't developed.
  20. I'd deal Lee for a number 2 starter (that player is up to the FO to find and believe in) with 3+ years of control, but why would anyone deal that type of pitcher? 100% not for a rental, and likely not for 2 years of a player either. I understand the logjam, and the doubts about his bat (all 1 year of pro ball to judge him....), but he's a consensus top 10-20 player. That's not a player to deal w/o an insane return back (even if you have to bundle him to get it).
  21. I was hoping Severino for 1 year, but that's gone. I still think it will be a trade.
  22. Guessing here.... Three QBs go in the top ten. That means they'll have to trade up to get the fourth one. The fifth might drop to around fifteen, I'd guess. This is a deep QB draft, but ten teams need better QB play..... I'm guessing Nix goes third, but JJ might. Penix goes fifth or sixth, depending on how people feel about the LSU QB. Six could go in round one.
  23. This wouldn't shock me. The team is well protected by the press, so it isn't just hubris
