  1. Every penny spent on dudes that don't play is money not spent on guys that do. Hard pass.
  2. I'd fire the entire FO if he's brought back. I might insist they fold the team completely.
  3. If he's not playing CF, I don't know why....and hope he's awesome to start the year in AAA and traded, because they are wasting time with him in the infield in AAA given what is in MN and AAA already.
  4. that first part also shows why maybe you don't trade depth.....because Sano didn't work and they needed both Larnach and Kiriloff (neither of whom have worked out).....and this team won't afford veterans in all those spots....
  5. I don't agree they are young by experience at all. Julien, Wallner and Lewis..... That's it for guys without much experience. Maybe, maybe, kiriloff. Otherwise this is a veteran team with more leadership than followers. I'm always amazed how many posts I read here about inexperience and youth, given this roster.
  6. He wasn't redundant three or two years ago. That's just not fair. I agree with you in principle, but not this example. I'm not sure we knew he was redundant last year to start either. Thiey do have more OF prospects than catcher or pitcher right now....
  7. Taylor. People are mentioning Taylor. And other affordable guys. As for bellinger, he was terrible before last year and wants big money and lots of years. But if he'll come for three years, sure, they could do that. Pretty risky..... Given their budget constraints.
  8. This. I have zero interest in signing another mediocre veteran to block young guys. They have plenty of those, and the back of the bench should be guys with options. It's one reason Gordon is gone, and now people want to sign an older, more expensive, guy without options?
  9. I almost watched that the other day, I'll add it to the list....thanks!
  10. Fire Dave St. Peter so they can get a good deal and their head of Ops stops blaming fans for everything? Stop saying out loud you'll cut payroll when you are winning finally? I'd say the best way is to win games. That's what fans want. They aren't winning any fans back in any meaningful way unless they win more.
  11. How well would severino have to hit to make a case, if Santana is putting up a 90 wrc? I'm guessing nearly infinite wrc?
  12. a bad, available, player, is much worse than an injured player....you can replace an injured guy.....and Santana was BAD the 3 years before '23. As long as they cut bait if he's bad and Miranda/Severino are crushing AAA, but I have my doubts.
  13. I could see Farmer (I wouldn't do that), but are you replacing Vazquez with a cheap vet, or Camargo? Just curious, and we agree on Santana for sure, even with the current roster. That's not going to go well.
  14. Fair enough, we'll definitely disagree on that (and where are you paying for this given their constraints?).
  15. Yup, but the O's are in a different spot (budget, team quality, depth), and I'm asking....would YOU trade 5 years of Julien plus more for 1 of Burnes if you were the Twins FO?
  16. You're suggesting trading 5 years of Julien and more for 1 year of Burnes? Yikes. Sure, the Brewers say yes to that all day, but no way the TWins should have done that. No way.
  17. When I read the writeups on Fangraphs, all I can think "how are they rated this high with all the issues?"
  18. So much risk, so much potential reward. Frankly, glad I don't need to make this decision.
