Predicting the Minnesota Twins Lineup One Year From Now
DJL44 replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I would like to see how a fully healed Keaschall defends. Right now, his arm might not be good enough for 2B.- 117 replies

I wish they would emphasize defense a little more. Putting Gasper in to catch and Julien at 1B isn't helping any of our pitchers.

Predicting the Minnesota Twins Lineup One Year From Now
DJL44 replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Both C and 1B are wide open for the foreseeable future. The Twins have cash available. They need to extend Jeffers this offseason. 3 years, $40M could get it done. I wouldn't give Vazquez more than $1M to return.- 117 replies

The problem is you're comparing him to the other Twins, who are one of the worst offenses in baseball.- 117 replies

They're pretty much guaranteed to keep trying out bad relief pitchers for the rest of the season. The next 6 weeks are open tryouts for bad players. I'm actually surprised at how people are still upset when the Twins lose. Twins fans need to lower their expectations a LOT for the remainder of 2025. You're watching a bad baseball team. Don't let it affect your blood pressure.

Seems odd to pile on Matt Wallner in a game where he was the only offense. He even made a nice running catch in RF. Good game, Matt. Several posters here seem to be obsessed with Matt and feel the need to point out every mistake he makes. It's kind of creepy.

Twins should be doing what Baltimore is doing.
DJL44 replied to jaimedude's topic in Minnesota Twins Talk
Guys who actually should be considered Keaschall, Woods Richardson -
I guarantee many of the players on the Twins right now are thrilled that they aren't stuck in AAA anymore. I haven't seen any signs of dissatisfaction from Wallner, Buxton or Jeffers. Joe Ryan might be the one player who is irritated he's still on the team, but he seems like a pretty laid-back dude.

.271/.384/.504 .331/.423/.496 The top one is what Trevor Larnach did in AAA at age 26 (after struggling in the majors in his debut). The bottom is what Roden did in AAA at age 25. Roden is the better fielder (though Larnach was better than he is now when he was younger). The Twins aren't crazy to think Roden is a low-key upgrade on Trevor Larnach. Larnach has provided about 1 WAR per season, Roden could do the same for league minimum.

They should be pushing prospects to levels that require them to improve, not keeping them at levels that aren’t challenging just to win minor league games.

It’s a good thing they let them both acclimate to the organization in AAA and debut against a bad team like the White Sox. It could have been ugly if they had gone directly into the rotation.

Julien is one of the only players drafted that low to even make the major leagues. He has over performed compared to expectations on draft day.

Outman has played 5 games for the Twins. They aren’t going to rotate in new players every 5 games. That would be an insane amount of roster churn.

By next week someone here will be ready to cut him and bring up Payton Eeles. Heck, someone might have already said that and I missed it.

There isn't much more to learn about Julien. He's plateaued as a baseball player. Sabato is hitting worse than Jonah Bride and Dashawn Keirsey in AAA. I am ambivalent about Cardenas. I do think Abel should come up. He doesn't have that much left to learn in AAA. I think Urena will be replaced with Lopez shortly.
