  1. I am actually baffled Koskie was elected instead of Santana.
  2. There is a lot of BS in this statement. If they said outright what they're doing the union would file a grievance.
  3. Miranda went 2 for 5 last night and Dashawn Keirsey hit a HR. My guess is the opposing pitching last night was pretty lousy.
  4. Carew stole 52 with Orlando in 1965. Knoblauch was never above 40 in the minors. Cesar Tovar stole 88 in 1961 and 56 in 1962 but he was a Reds prospect at the time.
  5. That's good. Most teams will use 9 starters to get through a season. Canterino is a name, but not someone I ever expect to see pitching in the major leagues. He hasn't thrown a competitive inning in three seasons. The track record of pitchers rehabbing after shoulder surgery is poor. If Canterino pitches in AAA it will be a minor miracle.
  6. I would rather have Bradley starting in MLB than Urena but I wouldn't want to move him to the bullpen right now.
  7. They're working on becoming a starting pitcher. Adding and refining pitches, working on consistency of mechanics to repeat location, pitch sequencing and tunneling. Training for the bullpen is like learning to be a sprinter. Training for the rotation is like training for the mile.
  8. That's what Pierson Ohl and Travis Adams are doing. The other starters are working on things in AAA and getting a lot more innings there than they would in MLB.
  9. He's been hitting leadoff a lot. The Twins 8/9 batters have been very bad. Not sure how that is Buxton's fault.
  10. I think the Twins would be perfectly happy having Culpeper and Jenkins play in the Double-A playoffs to end September. If they don't make the playoffs, I think both should spend the last 2 weeks of September in AAA.
  11. 0 for 3 last night and didn’t make a single play on defense. Time for a reset in AAA? Not serious, poking fun at other posts I’ve seen on this page.
  12. They weren’t winning and pitchers get hurt when they’re pitching tired.
  13. You left out Austin Martin and Trevor Larnach who are both still around. I expect they will trade Larnach but doubt they do the same with Martin. I would also bet they give the LF job to Walker Jenkins before they give it to Fedko. They will need 6 guys for 4 spots between OF and DH. They have options but I doubt they start the 2026 season with Gonzalez, Jenkins, Rodriguez, Fedko or McCusker on the 26-man roster. AAA could have a very interesting outfield with Gonzalez, Jenkins and Rodriguez. I think the OF they have tonight is your likely outfield in April.
  14. The hot streak immediately after leaving makes it look like he wasn't giving 100% to the Twins. I really doubt that is the case, but that's how it looks.
  15. Keaschall has zero money earned and zero track record which gives him zero leverage. There is risk in extensions for unestablished players, but that's also why the potential reward is so high. He would have to collapse to the point where they need to release him to make 8 years, $60M a bad deal for the Twins. Ryan Jeffers, 1B, for 2028 would likely be as good or better than any option they currently have in the minors. Over the next 2 seasons, he's likely to be one of the top 20 catchers in MLB.
  16. You know how people talk about clutch not being a thing? Part of that is players who can't handle the pressure at MLB are weeded out pretty quickly. Gasper might be one of those players who can't block out the crowds and the bright lights. His spray chart is very pull-happy. I agree with this assessment.
  17. Morneau talked quite a bit about the swing adjustments Martin had made. They appear to be helping. The scouts will have to create a new plan of attack, then he'll have to adjust again.
  18. I would be perfectly happy to see the Twins “ride the arbitration roller coaster” with Bailey Ober. What I really want to see is a bounce back in performance so he can be traded.
  19. Ryan Jeffers is the most obvious candidate for a multiyear contract extension. The Twins need catching. If his defense slips behind the plate they can move him to 1B. Catchers rarely get a huge payday. I think 3/$40 would get it done. That would make him one of the top 5 paid catchers at a very affordable cost. It’s Mitch Garver money.
  20. Eeles can’t really play SS or 3B either. He plays 2B and LF. Ryan Fitzgerald is the backup utility player. Beyond that they probably use Will Holland or pay some other organization for their AAA SS.
