  1. If the Twins are willing to offer Ryan Jeffers $23M for next season and make him the highest paid catcher in MLB, I am pretty confident he will return. Trade him for prospects and give him a huge free agent contract if that is what you want. If they have had discussions and are sure he would accept, they should absolutely trade him for prospects. Then they get to have their cake and eat it too.
  2. I think it is interesting that my original question was about people’s first impressions of Anderson but apparently nobody was paying attention to that part of the game.
  3. There may be some decent pitching squeezed off of the rosters of playoff teams. The Twins have been pretty effective at jumping the line for first dibs.
  4. Do you think awesome pitchers are sitting at home without a job waiting for the Twins to call?
  5. I didn’t think I would get a thumbs down for taking advantage of nice weather and walking my dog. People are weird.
  6. Looks like Rojas will go on the IL. Never worry about having all your best pitchers healthy at the same time. It never happens.
  7. You would rather he kept the lousy pitchers on the roster and kept pitching them?
  8. Any impressions of Anderson? The weather was nice so I took the dog for a long walk.
  9. What exactly do you expect Zoll to do? He can’t go back to January and sign good relievers.
  10. Yes, because prospects are ranked on upside potential, not on current production. Besides, Roden exhausted prospect eligibility with the Blue Jays. Luke Keaschall doesn’t get ranked on prospect lists anymore either.
  11. Burn an option on Jenkins. Would you call Jenkins up, give him just 21 at-bats to prove himself and demote him if he has fewer than 5 hits? I hope not.
  12. Alan Roden has had 21 at-bats. The difference between .190 and .238 is one hit when the denominator is that small. If the wind had been blowing out in Wrigley Field on his fly ball to RF he would have a slash of .238/.360/.381 Are you going to demote Jenkins and burn an option if he hits .190 in his first 21 at bats?
  13. Not quite correct. If the Twins call Jenkins up in May next year and he wins ROY he gets a full year of service time for 2027. They round up to one full season.
  14. Do you think Cleveland was stealing pitch com signs?
  15. What you are describing is basically the mission statement of Baseball America as a publication. They report on baseball prospects.
  16. So call up Jenkins and have him ride the bench while Larnach, Buxton and Keaschall get the playing time?
  17. Jenkins undeniably has more upside potential than Roden. I think he needs to spend more time working to realize that upside in AAA.
  18. Jenkins has 4 HR at AAA. His OPS at that level is lower than Fedko, Sabato, Roden, Wallner and Ryan Kreidler. He is doing a lot of things well, but one good week doesn’t make him ready for the majors.
  19. Prielipp needs to pitch to get better at pitching. If they shut him down they stunt his development for another season.
