  1. I also don't see Manoah coming over as a 1 for 1 but in a package to hedge against some of the volatility it could happen.
  2. The Colorado Rockies pitchers end up at the bottom of the list consistently.
  3. If the Rangers add Montgomery they could be open to trading Andrew Heaney just to free up cash. He's on a 1 year $13M contract for 2024.
  4. 2B and DH does not equal "multiple positions". Polanco cannot play 3B or SS adequately.
  5. Hoping for the best is great but you should plan for the most reasonable result.
  6. I expected to see some mid-1990s Twins on the list but there weren't any. Was surprised to look up Frankie Rodriguez and see him as a postive WAR contributor. Betting he shows up on the negative WAA list (-2.7).
  7. Woods-Richardson is the 6th starter at the moment. They can upgrade the rotation at the deadline (though the last time they did was Mahle and people universally hate that trade) but they need another starter before opening day.
  8. They clearanced out a ton of them really cheap at the State Fair. How else are you going to get a Twins jersey for $5?
  9. Most of them are already gone. Montgomery and Snell are all that remains. Neither one is looking to sign with the Twins.
  10. The Twins weren't going to give Pressly a high dollar contract extension.
  11. One silver lining, Nick Gordon is more likely to pass through waivers at $1.25M than at $900k. It would make him easier to stash in St. Paul.
  12. I think the complete bust potential for the #8 pick is like 30%. An average starting position player in MLB getting paid during his cost-controlled seasons has like $80M in excess future value.
  13. In other Twins news, this looks like it will be Torii Hunter's last season on the ballot as well. He's tracking to fall below 5%.
  14. Jeffers is not going to break the bank. MLB makes over $10.5B in revenue. 48% of local revenue and 100% of national revenue is shared among all 30 teams. There is shared revenue of at least $200M into the foreseeable future. Target Field has never drawn less than 1.8M fans outside of a pandemic year. The Twins will have revenues over $250M even if they decide to make TV broadcasts free on their website. I am really tired of the local TV contract becoming the excuse for everything.
  15. A little disappointed they didn't give Jeffers a long-term contract to buy out arbitration.
  16. The Mariners would definitely trade DeSclafani. If they want another depth starter they can acquire one just as good (or possibly better) for the same price in free agency. If I was Seattle and could dump DeSclafani, add James Paxton and save $4M I would do that in a heartbeat. I think it is funny how this poster keeps talking about how Seattle is "unlikely to trade" their players when Jerry DiPoto is known for trading anyone and everyone. His nickname is the "high volume trader".
  17. Good point. Camargo was a miss for this article. Though he might not be considered a "top prospect" he's pretty certain to make his debut.
  18. Descalfini is not worth much trade value with a contract that is pretty much market rate. They can find a free agent with a similar projection for similar money (or less). That means he wouldn't be the target of the trade but could be useful to balance out money if they send Polanco to Seattle.
  19. I like this take. There are very few players who had everything go right for them during their career. Mantle had the knee injury. Williams and Mays spent time in military service. Griffey Jr. tore his hamstring. Nearly everyone has challenges to overcome.
  20. Gosh I hope so because injured Alex Kirilloff is not worth having on a roster.
  21. There is no way Molina's defense could make up for the gap in offense between him and Mauer or Posey. He'd have to be more responsible for run prevention than the pitchers and fielders.
  22. You can't refer to the current minor league team in Indianapolis. This site won't allow it.
