  1. Interesting UDFA signing - Zander Sechrist from Tennessee Tennessee pitcher Zander Sechrist signs with Minnesota Twins | wbir.com
  2. If they put Eeles back in A-ball you will know they don't think he has a future with the MLB team.
  3. Caleb Thielbar is the highest paid member of the bullpen and he had a really bad first half of the season.
  4. The priority in the minors is individual player development, not wins and losses.
  5. If Eeles is the best infielder in AAA the rest of the way out, maybe. I can't see them wanting to add him to the 40 man roster.
  6. 2024 MLB Draft grades for every team: Braves, Guardians get 'A' while Angels, Rangers miss opportunities - CBSSports.com
  7. Since you mentioned the All-Star Game production team at FOX sports... Why all the athlete interviews during the game? There were multiple batters who nobody saw because they cut away from the ACTUAL GAME for stupid interviews with athletes. I have a feeling FOX would rather skip the game entirely and show 3 hours of interviews with the players. Listening to an athlete spout cliches is so much better than watching an athlete do athletic things, right? Maybe the Twins can have Christian Vazquez host a lecture series this weekend instead of playing the games. It isn't just FOX who has this problem; NBC insisted on interviewing track stars at the Olympic trials immediately after their event ended which led to interviews like this: Interviewer: "How does it feel to win the race?" Athlete: "It feels <huff, puff, wheeze> good to win <huff, puff, wheeze> I worked <huff, puff, wheeze> really hard" Interviewer: "Are you going to try to win again at the Olympics?" Athlete: "Yes, I'm <huff, puff, wheeze> going to give <huff, puff, wheeze> it my best shot <huff, puff, wheeze> and hopefully <huff, puff, wheeze> things will work out. <vomits on the grass>"
  8. They will need some infield depth if Julien is promoted back to the MLB team.
  9. Zach Eflin is the best example of an MLB pitcher succeeding by never walking anyone.
  10. It is funny that your highlight for Marco Raya shows Pierson Ohl clearly outperformed him in that particular game.
  11. I would rank SWR above everyone else on the list. Competent starting pitching is the scarcest talent in MLB.
  12. Looks like the NBA just destroyed the regional sports network. NBA owner warns regional sports networks 'unviable' with new TV deal - Yahoo Sports
  13. MLB.com said he's the best prep lefty from Texas since Kyle Muller. That sounds great, except Muller is just now having his first productive season at age 26. That's the problem with high school players. By the time they're good they've used up all of their options.
  14. What farm director is going to say "Boy, I really screwed that draft up yesterday. These guys are terrible!"
  15. If their strategy is bad at finding cheap, young pitching they will not be competitive long-term with a $120M payroll. If they're good at finding pitching, then find more of it. Pitchers are currency for trades that every team will always want. They might not need a future second baseman, but everyone can find room for another pitcher.
  16. Disagree. Drafts should be at least 60% pitching. Pitchers get injured more often so there is always more attrition. There are more pitchers than hitters used in any season. Pitchers make more $$/WAR than hitters. Pitching is scarce. Hitting is easier to acquire through free agency.
  17. Actually, the further away you go the whole 7 county Metro area becomes a singular entity. I took a kids 4-H team to an event on a Sunday morning at an elementary school in Woodbury and my exurban parents were asking if that was safe.
  18. I really like having the draft happen at this spot in the calendar. Filling the spot before the All-Star game is great. Any earlier and the actual games overshadow it. Post-ASG will be all trade rumors.
  19. I also find it very hard to understand but it's real. I will tell people I'm going to a Twins game and the immediate response from suburbanites is that I'm risking my life like it's Hanoi in 1968. It's even worse the further away you get from the metro.
