  1. They already called up Henriquez. Blewett and Boushley were performing the best of the rest. Topa has looked good when he can get on the mound. Zack Weiss started throwing again about a month ago and has been mediocre. An average organization will produce about 2 players a year from their minor leagues who can contribute at the MLB level.
  2. I can't fault Baldelli for using Jax for one inning, a role which he has excelled in. I also can't fault Baldelli for using Jhoan Duran in relief in a close game, he doesn't have any better options.
  3. I looked up the 2021 Wichita team and you may be right but that team didn't have much pitching. Winder, Balazovic, Sands, Vallimont, Austin Schulfer and Bryan Sammons were in the rotation. Sands looks like the best of the bunch now and they have all been moved to the bullpen. Jovani Moran, Kody Funderburk and Yennier Cano looked good in relief.
  4. Asking a lot from a reliever with an ERA above 6 in AAA. Winder was the worst on the Twins at holding baserunners last year. Any word on whether he has improved at holding runners?
  5. Billy Martin and Rocco Baldelli are complete opposites. Every weakness for one is a strength for the other.
  6. He's very unlikely to hit .346 for a full season so I wouldn't count on what he's done for us lately. He's hit .260 over the course of his professional career. A .260/.330/.370 line is what I would expect as a baseline. If he can improve his defense that's good enough for a 4th OF role. He has the tools (75th percentile sprint speed) to be better on defense but his results have been underwhelming (6th percentile OAA). The Twins wasted a lot of time playing him at SS and the claims that he is a "natural" outfielder were highly exaggerated. If his defense doesn't improve his MLB career will be quite short.
  7. Winder might get promoted but I'm skeptical that a reliever with an ERA over 6 in AAA is going to help.
  8. Don't forget baserunning so bad his grandma chewed him out.
  9. Jeffers, Duran, Lewis (he's a free agent sooner than you think), Jax.
  10. Because it's cheaper to do it earlier than later. You risk more guaranteed money by waiting because they get more expensive.
  11. Rosters expand on Friday. They let Okert go. Maybe they'll finally be willing to cut Kyle Farmer if Lee is healthy.
  12. I don't think Keirsey will be a starter but he's probably worth having for the AAA shuttle, especially when Byron Buxton is the team's starting CF. Someone mentioned Jake Cave and that might be fair. Jake Cave has played over 500 games in MLB. I don't think they have added him because they want to use all 3 of his option years 2025-27 as a 15th or 16th position player on the roster.
  13. Winder has a 6.16 ERA in AAA in 41 innings. Henriquez has a 3.44 ERA in 55 innings. Henriquez would have to give up 11 runs in his next inning to match Winder's performance.
  14. He pitched 5 shutout innings against the Blue Jays to get the Twins their first playoff series win since 2003.
  15. So your position is the front office is incompetent and should be fired because they lose all their trades.
  16. Then they should dump Chris Paddack.
  17. A prospects-for-prospects trade for catching would be a good idea even if they keep Vazquez for his last season.
  18. We have a name on that pick now: Kyle DeBarge. We'll see how that pans out, although they did pick him underslot and give some of the money to Hill.
