  1. “11k here feels a lot better than 11k at the Trop” lol
  2. Ron Davis *shudders*
  3. There’s 8 relievers on the staff. The way this team hits, it’s better to have a fireman who can warm up quick and wriggle a starter out of a jam and avoid giving up runs, than to worry about running out of relievers in an 8 man bullpen
  4. while Lee is below average in hard hit rate and average exit velo, you’ve seen worse. Such as Carlos Correa
  5. Pablo’s whole outing was just nerve wracking. Super fun to watch him get in and out of jams. It’s a heck of a pitcher who looked more than a little off (to me) for 5 and 2/3, and only give up one run. Also, Sands has been fantastic, and still holds primary leverage situations even though Jax has been great too. what a fun game to take my son to
  6. Agreed, right now it’s not Clemens v McCusker, it’s more Bader/Kiersey/Whoevers DHing v McCusker. There’s plenty of room to get McCrusher at bats while Wallner is out, and probably even after he returns. This team isn’t exactly blowing the doors off in the batters box
  7. Ride that hot hand!
  8. Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?
  9. On pace for 24 complete games MLB wide! Unreal
  10. I was intending to compliment your work, while pointing out the challenge in answering the question of “How do I know if a GM is good?”. You limited your scope intentionally. Bean limited their scope intentionally. Scope must be limited, no one can distill the ocean.
  11. His 4.58 xFIP all of 2024 and 2025 to date ranks 75th among starters. That’s a good 5th starter
  12. A month ago I said something to the effect of “this needs to rattle off 10 wins in a row to make them relevant again, and I don’t think they have it in them” never so thrilled to be wrong
  13. I believe Falvey has been quoted something pretty similar.
  14. Agreed, but to bean’s rather curt/arbitrary point, every analysis has to be scoped in order to be relevant. There hasn’t been more comprehensive analysis than MLR’s, but even MLR’s is limited in scope and still so broad it’s really hard to come to any sort of conclusion. do a comparative to scope, evaluate, set a grade/standard, do another comparative evaluate, wash, rinse, repeat to develop a kpi dashboard and by the time you are done, Falvey was fired 5 years ago and data sets are stale.
  15. With the ad, I almost missed this gem: ”He then struck out against the pitching machine, which wasn’t even turned on yet.” So funny
  16. Like, Reinsdorf sprung for a new mop bucket?
