  1. Maybe Sinclair Broadcasting will make some improvements?
  2. ok I’ll bite....How do you round up 500 cows?
  3. are you predicting another roster move involving a Trevor? I don’t believe May has options, and may be able to decline optional assignment with greater than 4 years service time.
  4. this is the first limerick I’ve ever read that wasn’t dirty
  5. is your Twitter profile pic you with La Tortuga? If so, make it your TD profile pic too. That’s awesome!
  6. You’ll never get good results if you take the wrong metrics. Faith is believing without seeing and metrics are a great facilitator for the uninitiated. That is what Pythag is all about.
  7. According to the box score Berrios was lifted after giving up two runs but with at least two runners on base. Duffey let two inherited runners score. I listened for a while and indeed it was a tough slog for Berrios, but I think we do need to keep a sharp eye on those inherited runners scored. Earned runs is hiding deep flaws in this bullpen. Falvey needs to get reinforcements fast.
  8. as other posters have said, relief pitchers are available at the trade deadline. A couple dang good relief arms acquired by the trade deadline and some reasonably good appearances by the likes of Stewart and Thorpe when injuries hit the rotation and this team could make a push. Bullpen depth has been the key to post season success and can be had.
  9. I’m not sure how more than one player can be considered a lead pipe “cinch”. It is to an extent a vote, and the Twins are only guaranteed one spot. The fans of other teams must be like us, waiting for the Twins to prove it. Cruz is the most likely candidate, as the most recognizable player. If Garver recovers from his IL stint quickly and hits like he has been, he’s my prediction for a second hitter. Polanco should be, but there’s a ton of more recognizable competition at short.
  10. I’m a bit leery of letting my guard down. I seem to recall thinking the Twins were an 85 win team in Spring Training. If the play at that pace the rest of the way, it’s 92 wins. I’ll take the over. I don’t think they are a 107 win team, but maybe 95. That would be 66-52 the rest of the way or 91 win pace over a full season. Over clearly. I’m with you. Cleveland doesn’t have enough depth to overcome the Twins.
  11. But how else do you prepare figgy pudding flambé?
  12. agreed, and I don’t mean to compare Reed’s injury to a combat veteran’s or a farmer who was injured in a combine accident, but.... we don’t know what kind of pain Addison Reed may be dealing with now or in the future. Just cuz he isn’t injured in a physically obvious way, makes him any more or less “in pain”. For all we know he could be physically disabled due to repetitive injury. While I agree with the FOs decision, I do sympathize for Reed and wish him well.
  13. if he’s on a rehab, wouldn’t you activate, DFA then select another contract or trade?
  14. that was more exciting than it should have been
  15. Did stringer get his beer? I’m waiting with ‘baited breath!
