  1. i’d look for one of each. They need two good to very good setup and closer type relievers.
  2. 5th 3rd bank is the owner of my car loan. I was suspect of a bank that can’t do fractions (who purchased it from my credit union, so I didn’t have a choice) to properly account for my balance, but we’re 4/5ths through the note and no issues so far. Keeping my fingers crossed
  3. I bet he knew exactly what state he was in, probably one of these two.
  4. per the rule book it’s for investigation to periods to rules violations and when players fail to report, or have visa issues.
  5. thank God that’s a right handed prosthetic
  6. Goodness! Relief is an odd feeling this season
  7. while I still don’t trust the bullpen, I do trust Berrios way more than Perez
  8. Sano’s OPS is driven by slugging that normalizes at 500 plate appearances. He’s having a great month. I hope his great month becomes 2, becomes a great season. When comparing to Ortiz’s age 26 season, it’s not fair to compare 62 plate appearances to 347. I think it’s fair to question promise of a guy who’s been injured for such significant stretches. I sill hope he can continue his stretch of recent success.
  9. https://mobile.twitter.com/Ken_Rosenthal/status/1136431087104798720Deal in place
  10. 3 runs 6 innings, 75 pitches and Lindor not due for 5 batters. Why not send him back out? Edit: dang....
  11. thanks! Please be a little more considerate before making flippant posts like positivity are made again
  12. I’ve moved on and recovered well. Jobs are like the bus...
  13. didn’t you recently move to Portland for a job? Or was that your wife’s job? I’ve moved for a job a couple times and got screwed on both of them. Sold a bill of goods and never delivered on promises, so I get burned out and they keep all the bonus money...
  14. I didn’t know the Wisconsin dept of agriculture sponsored peanuts too. I always assumed that was Georgia... but if it was Wisconsin, the peanut farmers would be much more successful Way better than PCA https://www.foodsafetynews.com/2013/02/peanut-corporation-of-america-from-inception-to-indictment-a-timeline/
  15. Cavasco a “backup plan” to Sano 4 years from now? Playing the long game eh?
  16. I’m with you. He’s had 50 plate appearances and he kills it when he hits it. I think Sano can be a productive hitter with a high K rate, if he can improve his selection. That Bb rate needs to improve if the K rate doesn’t. I think it’s possible and the only way to find out is to give him more plate appearances. That being said, for the right package of prospects/players no one is off the table
  17. I believe the rules are players must be paid minimum wage for 40 hours per week. That’s Federal law not a contractual obligation. The Blue Jays are paying their minor leaguers more, but it’s not contingent of their draft bonus. The draft bonuses are slotted and each team is allotted their pool based on the slot rates of their first 10 rounds. Teams negotiate with the player on the bonus amount, but I haven’t seen evidence of salary impacting bonus. Maybe that’s the Blue Jay’s strategy. We pay all of our minor leaguers twice as much salary as other teams. “If you sign your contract with us for slightly less bonus than you might elsewhere, you’ll take home a much larger check.” https://www.thecubreporter.com/book/export/html/3554 https://www.axios.com/minor-league-baseball-blue-jays-41f28f7f-0e3a-41ff-a3f4-dce0cb98745f.html
  18. they need more than one reliever to make real serious post season push. I think the starters are good enough for the post season bullpen games. The bullpen has been “good enough” mostly due to reduced exposure. All that goes out the window in a 7 game post season series. Sign Kimbrel and try to swing a trade for the next Ryan Pressly
  19. that is too late as if it were to happen that would mean the sky has actually fallen and we’re all dead... crushed by the weight of it.
