  1. or you could live with a short bullpen a couple days and give Perez his start Saturday, push back starts on Tuesday. That would also benefit a battered rotation
  2. Arraez has electrolytes? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=GFD2ggNxR1g
  3. part of this has been a very good rotation. Average 5.2 innings per start puts them 6th in mlb, with the 4th best ERA. Baldelli has been able to limit exposure and effectively manage work loads. He wont be afforded that luxury so well in the post season.
  4. not sympathizing with a parent who is too exhausted to care if their child’s shirt is inside out is typically a sign of not having been through it
  5. These things tend to sort themselves out - my guess is an IL stint is upcoming.
  6. clearly what I think doesn’t matter. Falvey and Levine have both said things to the effect of “we’ll supplement when the time is right, but we won’t spend for the sake of spending” In other words, “if we don’t have to spend, we won’t”. If they can coast into the post season, they will. Making it competitive makes it more likely the team gets improved for a post season run.
  7. that is the silver lining. If the lead was still double digits over the Indians, Falvine might not be so inclined to improve the team before the trade deadline
  8. Gleeman and the Geek had a good synopsis of the coaching work done with Sano to help explain/describe his recent skid. The way Gleeman said it, the FO read Parker's TD article on fixing his swing and took free advice.
  9. I gotta be honest.... I got a little misty about this literary masterpiece. Great work
  10. that is the thing with polls... sample size matters.... good point on saves I think you can reconcile that with run differential. At plus 110 runs, they have more blow outs, fewer save opportunities.
  11. if the bullpen were striking batters out, instead of allowing balls in play, would the errors have happened? I can still find a way to blame the bullpen
  12. Qualifying a statement w/ "SSS but..." is like saying "no offense but...". Just because you said "no offense" doesn't mean you aren't offensive. Let's see if he can sustain that OPS while maintaining a 38% K rate. I'm with Brock - he doesn't have to improve much, but improvement in K-rate is a necessity or the other variables in baseball will take their toll on his peripheral stats.
  13. i’d look for one of each. They need two good to very good setup and closer type relievers.
  14. I bet he knew exactly what state he was in, probably one of these two.
  15. Sano’s OPS is driven by slugging that normalizes at 500 plate appearances. He’s having a great month. I hope his great month becomes 2, becomes a great season. When comparing to Ortiz’s age 26 season, it’s not fair to compare 62 plate appearances to 347. I think it’s fair to question promise of a guy who’s been injured for such significant stretches. I sill hope he can continue his stretch of recent success.
  16. Cavasco a “backup plan” to Sano 4 years from now? Playing the long game eh?
  17. Adams was DFA’d and claimed by the Tigers. He’s out of options. https://www.freep.com/story/sports/mlb/tigers/2019/05/26/austin-adams-detroit-tigers/1246143001/ ninja’d
  18. Gordon is still young with value to boot! Imagine if he can get his bat figured out in AAA. No such thing as too many short stops/middle infielders
