  1. I love this - my disagreement is in the list of honorable mention - if you can't hit 250 in the minors I am not impressed with the hitting. Seeing Sabato number one is shocking. I gave up on him 2 years ago - now I would love to see him replace Bell - why not? I am also delighted to see Olivar up there. Jackson and Caratini are not a pair want to see on the team next year. It will be interesting to see where Mendez fits in with the Walker/Emma promotions (of course if he stays healthy he has a big advantage). Fedko just seems to be in limbo even when the team keeps Outman - My head hurts trying to figure this out. What is the major league potential for Ross? He has the Keaschall, Lee, Culpepper, Gray, Kreidler, Lewis and Marek log jam to work throught so how does he rank in this grouping?
  2. How lucky are the Twins to be in this division? We would be fifth in the AL East, 4th in the AL west, last in NL central, 4th in NL west, and 4th in NL east. We are 21st in combined overall standings and tenth in combined AL standing. We are just not good and I am afraid we are descending not ascending.
  3. A sad day - good for Lee - Parades got his mlb debut - what else can I say about the team that is nice? It might take a while. So Ober who has had three clunkers in a row is now IL. Zebby is looking like the same Zebby that failed the last two years. What is our rotation? Ryan, Bradley....help! Will Morris start a game? Will Klein? Then if we take them out of the BP- what do we do in the Pen? I have no faith in the pitching Codies. But wasn't it nice that they Outman a chance to PH? 654 - that is his total - not OPS, but AOPS - all three of his slash line added together. What more does he have to do to be cut?
  4. This is who we are - we just need to keep shuffling the pieces until we are ready to climb out of the hole. Ober has not done well in any of the three games since his Maddux - no way to cover up. The trouble with Ober's change up is that his fastball is already a change up. I am enjoying Lee's resurgence and hoping this game got Keaschall back! Larnach has been okay, but where is his power? Martin is coming down from his great start. Funderburk and Lawyerson are not going to rescue the BP. I am just going to enjoy baseball and wait until the team sorts out what the future will look like.
  5. I am amazed - you need a wow emoji. But I am actually quite pleased to see the organization take bold moves with SWR, Lewis, Wallner. In the past we just hung on to poor performances. Now the team is saying produce or move on. I like. What will be next?
  6. Fun speculation, but injuries will readjust it. I think Lewis is really having fun in St Paul. I do not know if he fits in on the Twins Roster. I see him more as a trade candidate. Watching Keaschall at second last night was painful. His glove does not work. If he got his hitting going he could be DH. And if Lewis does return he too can be DH. Bell getting cut or benched would not hurt the team.
  7. I think I am having a difficulty with the calendar - it seems like Walker has been on the IL more than 7 days - seeing him on the IL with Rodriguez everyday is so frustrating when we need help in Minneapolis. Who would you drop from the top twenty and who would you add - there have been enough games played now that we can start to re-evaluate. Ben Ross seems like a good add.
  8. Two games in one - first 5 went well, 6,7,8 - boring. Then we bring in Rogers who is not the pitcher that he was in the first round. He just does not have enough left in the tank for important innings like the 9th. But then, if they did not score, we might have continued our punchless ways for however many innings it went. By the way Rogers has a 4.15 ERA - unacceptable for a RP. AND A 1.569 whip - totally unacceptable.
  9. Lewis is raising his trade value - that is good. Not sure his attitude helps the team. But what about Wallner - he is down for a reset too and no where close to Lewis output. 200/327/289 is not going to do it. Put the two together in a package deal. We have a lot of expendables.
  10. Prime Nolan Ryan did not have an ERA of 7.74 either. How many teams score 8 runs per game?
  11. Yes I am pannicked - this has happened to frequently to this team. I am worried until he proves he is not injury prone.
  12. Out team is 21st in BA, 15th in HR, 19th in OPS+19th in hits, 18th in slugging - maybe those other teams that you mention aren't equal with us in this.
  13. Just imagine - this team playing far above expectations has had the following players in its lineup: BA, OPS+, BWAR, AB James Outman 167, 43, -0.3, 60 Victor Caratini 179, 47, -0.3, 123 Josh Bell 216, 73, -0.6 190 Royce Lewis 163, 52, -0.3 104 Matt Wallner 167 55 -1.3 120 Never mind that Gray, Clemens, and Keaschall are all under 250 The five I listed have had 597 ABs - they have accumulated -2.8 WAR And still, we are near 500 - amazing. That is a full 1/3 of our ABs so far this season.
  14. With Outman and Caratini playing it seems like the Twins are winning with a lineup of seven batters instead of nine. .179 and .167 - what am I missing. Maybe we are stuck with Caratini at catcher, but come on - Outman is -0.3 WAR. 43 OPS+. Can't we be creative with Gonzales, Rojas, Fedko, or Mendes? Caratini matches Outman with a -0.3 WAR. and nearly matches him with a 47 OPS+ and we have him signed for next year too. And this leads to Josh Bell -0.7 WAR. 73 OPS+ Replace him with Lewis and move on.
  15. Caratini has really disappointed - I hope Jackson can take the number one slot.
  16. He might need to move to another organization. What he is doing at AAA is a sign that much of his MLB failure is psychological.
  17. So great to read about these prospects - two new ones and one we have read about forever (it seems). I hope the BP makes him a star!
  18. No one wins all the games - good effort on the mound and in the field. Let's win tomorrow.
  19. I do not want another injury prone player, But with the Twins it seems like they all are. I keep wanting to see Jenkins more than Rodriguez, but he too is on the IL. They won't try Fedko. How about Rojas and Mendes?
  20. Great week, but the opponents had a lot to do with making us look good. I do not want Keaschall sent down - I think he is getting right again. If Lewis comes back soon - put him at DH. 0 We need a better option for CF than Outman .179 - -0.2 WAR, 53 OPS+.
  21. I am worried about Caratini - this is not the man I want replacing Jeffers. I am also worried about Ober - his last two outings have not been great - I hope he regains his early season form. What fascinating me is that all of us - yes me - wanted all the prospects and it is the pickup team of Arcia, Gray and Kriedler that has been carrying the water for the team. On the other hand I still am not pleased with Outman. Somehow Larnach has found his mojo. Good for him. Fascinating year.
