  1. None of those starters look like they are ready for the Twins. Wow that hurts.
  2. He may have velocity gains, but he is not ready to be in next years rotation.
  3. It must be hard to create these reports, but you do a really nice job. The rotation is such a mess, please give me Ryan so I have some hope. I do not believe in Dobnak, I have no faith in Jax, Pineda should not be resigned, Maeda is gone for the year. And don't even mention Gant or Barnes. So the rotation next year is Ober, Ryan and let's hope Balazovic looks great in the spring, Winder is ready to jump up and another prospect emerges because adding a veteran starter to this group does nothing.
  4. I really do not care what level they are at, just bring up some healthy arms and let them show us what we have.
  5. Somebody in the minors has to be available and not on the IL - get any healthy arm that is out there and under 27 years old. Start experimenting. Do something.
  6. I am not a Jax fan, even when he supposedly was going well I was not his fan. I want another young arm in the rotation. I am not interested in good stories, I want good pitchers. Gibault has the stats, but hard hit balls eventually fall in. By the way did anyone see what Berrios did today? Nice to see Sano on a positive streak and he is showing me some new talent, taking some pitches the other way. Donaldson is doing great - if only we could see this a full season - maybe 2022.
  7. I sure hope so. Kiriloff has to heal, Larnach needs to find his confidence again. I do suspect Sano will DH, Kiriloff when healthy at 1B, Larnach in OF, hopefully with Buxton and ??? I am not a Kepler fan. Who is next on the prospect list for OF/1B/DH? Do you think Rooker will stick next year?
  8. Rooker got on base by being hit. That seems to be his best strategy at this point. I'm very disappointed and how he has played. He's not young enough to keep taking time to develop. Of course putting in cave with a 187 average to replace Rooker with his 190 average has to be defense only. I'm looking for someone to replace both of them.
  9. I keep looking for pitchers who are showing promise for the future. Days like this are disappointing. I know something that this is late in the season so the pitchers are wearing down but I keep wondering why. The season started late and even though they had no minor leagues last year didn't they work out and keep developing during that time? I do think it was another of Manfords bad decisions. But it was also a year where everybody should have healed whatever ailments they had.
  10. Thanks for the insight. I read his name in the minor league summaries, but knew nothing about him. I have no expectations, but now I can read about him with some background.
  11. 2 - 0. I liked it. Good ball playing. The one thing I would like to see next game is Buxton starting a streak again. He had enough time in the minors to get timing, now he needs to produce for both the team and the contracts he is dreaming of.
  12. Pitcher and batter of the day - I don't know either of them. That was fun, although I really enjoyed Miranda just holding the batter title.
  13. Good summary - I hope he continues and makes it big. I remember being excited about Gonsalves so I have to temper my enthusiasm.
  14. I have no idea. I want him in the rotation. I do not know how he heals. I hope they get some outside opinions.
  15. The letter G did not work, the sesame street FO can now go and get some washed up letter H pitchers - Gant (6.75era), Garcia (10.45 era), Garza Jr (5.21 FIP) are done as far as I am concerned and reflect on this FO and their grab of unwanted vets. Time for Ryan, if he comes up and does what he looks like he is capable of doing the FO will look much better.
  16. 7 for 39 - last nights top prospect results. .179 with 16 Ks. Get that minor league hitting instructor to work.
  17. Too harsh and real - Damn Yankees.
  18. I have reached a point where I do not care if they resign Buxton. How much have they paid for how many games? He has been a liability and if he wants to prove his value with a two year contract where he tries to stay on the diamond I am fine but otherwise move on.
  19. We all kept asking why too, but had as much luck then as we have with Rocco now. Managers just think that the RP will figure it out.
  20. Having suffered through Ron Davis years, I still cannot stomach seeing Colome on the mound, but for those who missed him. Ron Davis was a Twin for parts of 5 years. His win loss for that time was 19 - 40 and I know RP win loss are not the most important numbers but often to get a win he had to give up the lead, to get a loss was easier, just stink. His ERA was 4.51, Reliever era is almost worthless because it does not credit the RP with the runs he gives up from inherited runners and since they are in for such a short time and batters only succeed 1/4th of their ABs it is easy for them to have a low era so any RP who has an era over 4 should be jetisoned. For the record we still have Colome and Alcala (Robles would have been on the list too). Barraclough would be on the list but has not been here long enough and we have gotten rid of many like Derek Law. Davis was in 249 games and saved 108. In 380 innings he gave up 188 walks plus 38 intentional walks. That is .6 walks per inning. And that gives him a 1.49 Whip. His runs allowed better than average was -26 for the five years with zero being league average! In 1986 opponents line against him was 340/449/580 - an OPS of 1.029. Everyone had a HOF year when he pitched. I ran a comparison of Ron Davis 1986 and Alex Colome in 2021 - it was very interesting. Colome 21 vs Davis 86 Here are some key outcomes. Davis was 30 and Colome is 32. ERA - Colome 4.53, Davis 8.59. Innings Colome 47, Davis 58. ERA+ Colome 92 and Davis 49 WAR - Colome -1.1, Davis -2.7. WPA Colome -2, Davis -3.2 What a chase - Colome still has time to catch up with some of Davis numbers. And I would hate to try to find all the worst relievers we have had.
  21. Baldelli was not going to name a closer at the beginning of the year, but then decides Colome is his closer - this makes no sense. I feel for Ober. By the way Garza Jr. experiment should end too. Bring up Cano, Moran and any other MiLB reliever and no more of these expert choices of fading vets. Finally - thank you Red Sox for taking Robles, would you like Colome too? Free?
  22. Ryan has done enough - put him in the rotation - why are we waiting? Call up Miranda, Ryan and get us ready for 2022.
  23. I am glad he has you for a fan - I want more - Jax might make the BP, but he is not who I am looking for in my ideal next rotation.
  24. I enjoy seeing where former Twins minor leaguers and MLB players are and how they are doing. Reed is one of the baseball nomads and I hope he finds a home and success. It is important to realize how hard it is to make the jump from minor to major leagues. Keep these articles up. Maybe an article where you list the players and their teams and stats. Thanks.
  25. I appreciate the insights and discussion. Yes to a second opinion, but also yes to doing the surgery as soon as it is an agreed upon need.
