  1. Imagine - they score 17 against us today - the Detroit TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and then we think we might have a bullpen game coming up if we trade Berrios! Our BP is so good that ought to keep the opponent under 30.
  2. If my old memory is correct, Sano has struck out in a potential game winning, late inning game three times in this series. No wonder Astudillo is playing 1B. Who do I trust in the twins BP? Duffey most of the time, Rogers most of the time and let the starter pitch until his arm falls off all the time.
  3. Nice good news story for a bad year. He is so promising - let's hope he keeps it up. With Arraez Knee, Donaldson's calf, and Kiriloff's injury history we need him!
  4. Colome certainly demonstrated to the scouts in the stands that he is still worthless. Nice to see Rooker succeeding. He had a great year in St Paul and waited a long time to be called back up. Garver is looking amazing which means we have three potential MLB catchers on the staff (sorry WIllians - not you) and that is some trade material.
  5. I have nothing to add on Buxton. I can just sit back and read the rumors and anguish, just as I have watched him blossom and then get one injury after another. I keep making the Pete Reiser comparison. Pete Reiser I hope Buxton comes back and stays healthy and gives us good baseball no matter where he is. I enjoyed watching Big Papi in Boston. But the part that still gets me is Berrios. The short note on him within the article gives him a shrug like he can be sacrificed. He is the kind of pitcher that we keep wanting the Twins to sign as a FA. He is so reliable we forget how rare it is for the Twins to have a pitcher of this caliber.
  6. Thanks for the notes and the updated prospect list. I look forward to seeing how you juggle the new players with the ones now on the list. I assume that Ober will come off soon and before the season is over so will Rooker. I am disappointed in Sabato and like Wallner better so I would love to see another take on them. So many names to keep track of. Thanks for doing the heavy lifting Seth.
  7. I could not agree more - Ober was disgusted - see his body language. If you are going to limit him, just shut him down when you want, but until them, let him be a pitcher and go as deep as he can.
  8. How many years will it be before his injuries slow him down? How long does he have left to be elite? The Twins have already paid him for all his lost time. They have invested in him and I do not know how long I would make the investment. I might see the $80m over 4 years and then walk away.
  9. After todays fiasco with Rocco pulling Ober early and bringing in Coloumbe to give up the big HR I have to say yes. We either need dozens of relievers or a new manager. I am for the latter.
  10. Count me as the skeptic. Do we have arms? Of course we do, but do we have quality? Or will we be signing the Happs and Shoemakers of the world to fill out the rotation? We better bring up the MiLB relief arms and see if any work, the Alcala experiment is looking bad and we cannot just keep putting him out in hopes he will make us forget Pressly. Today the OF was Cave/Kepler/Gordon. That is not a championship group. I am looking for a silver lining, but selling off our good players for prospects - or rather for hope - does not feel good right now.
  11. Berrios goes and we get to hope the prospects come through in three years. Let's hope the current prospects come through quick because we are in for a long down time.
  12. I know some don't like to hear it, what a trade with the rays is still worrisome. Good luck Nelson I hope you go to the world series
  13. Is he the next Buxton? His injury record and the minors and majors it's not good. After Byron I start to get worried about those trends
  14. This is the time and test our minor leaders and prospects. I don't care what age they are or what minor league they're level they're at. Anybody over 30 that hasn't proven to be far above average is tradable and needs to be replaced by somebody younger after this colossal year of collapse
  15. I will take Arraez and wonder if Rocco is just waiting for a post season honeymoon.
  16. What scares me is that they might decide to bring Shoemaker back. Trade him quick now that he has two good AAA games.
  17. I will join the other complainers who are really tired of Rocco and his quick hook
  18. It is going to be rough the rest of the way no matter who we put in the lineup
  19. Based on this report we have no shortage of 4th 5th 6th 7th outfielders. If only we had the Stars ahead of them
  20. For perspective we need to look at who left, not just who came. I like Puckett Pond's ten worst Twin Trades - 10 worst trades as an example or how difficult it is to make these trades work. To be fair here are the 10 best from him - 10 best trades. None of these trades are associated with our front office. If we look at Escobar and Pressly, both have been very productive and we are still waiting for production on our side of the ledger. Acala has been here two years and we are still waiting to see him turn the corner. I am not against trades, but the team really has to have a good scouting report on the prospects that they get. But even more important we have to know our own depth - Wade, Baddoo, Anderson... we have a lot of productive ex-prospects playing significant time and doing well for other teams. The nice shiny toy that the neighbors have is not always better than what you already own.
  21. The more trade previews I get from TD, the less enthused I am. I don't want those players, but I am willing to just give them Josh Donaldson and his contract.
  22. Jettison the deadwood - get rid of those who have shown themselves to be mediocre or worse. Send them packing. Bring in the new arms, put them out there to prove or disprove. Time to start moving on. I am still wondering what it benefits the team to have another start by Happ?
  23. Sometimes humor can be painful because it has to be true to be funny.
  24. As usual there is nothing very exciting here. Tossing in Rogers or Berrios as was mentioned should do more than move the needle. Then we have to get their best, but mainly lets just let Cruz have a nice finish to his season, dump Happ and Pineda and move on. It is a sad situation when the only things we can write about are speculations about which teams we might trade with and how the minors are doing. Not TD fault, but it emphasizes how far we have fallen. Which brings up another question - why aren't we speculating about one of the three catchers in a trade since that is such a valuable position.
  25. Another pleasant read - I think our minor league reports are surpassing the major league in the must read category.
